Incredibly useful, thank you. I can only hope that the "auto-optimization" features that kick in whenever there are more than two players on screen are gone for good. Being forced to see the textures crap all over themselves makes a once beautiful game look ten years older.

I've still gotten some keys, but eh... their ratio is pretty low.

I decided to put this video together for those who miss the old starting area, the Island of Dawn. It was such an amazing map and I miss it dearly.

You can also find an album full of high-resolution screenshots here. Some examples:

I'm not sure if KTERA or other eastern releases have their own Forums, but it's not as active as it is on Gameforge's side either. And their Discord is just as much of a mess (full of memes and shitposts rather than people actually engaging in conversations and discussions).

the latest news ive seen is on the Ktera v95 patch notes...there was a final note added saying the 64 bit client test server was now officially closed

And that theres a new planet in the solar system
so maybe next storyline will be invasion from the new planet to ours or travel there by us

I wish we could stop having villains and stories about creatures and beings from outside of Arborea. The Argon invasion was already pretty alien to begin with.

Where could I find these patch notes, btw?

Lootbox event = P2W

The footsteps are common and aren't that valuable (they've dropped in price considerably). The most alluring item is the mount, which is account-bound and can only be used if certain story missions have been completed. Everything else can be dropped in other content and was already in the market.

PvP only sees a spark of life during special occasions and during events (like the ones we're having right now), but the latter tends to affect a couple of Battlegrounds rather than all of them. There are still PvP guilds doing their thing and all of that. I haven't see any cheats being used as of late. EME did suffer a DDoS attack recently, though.

The thing is, PvE is the game's main focus and its biggest draw. And so are the "fashion wars" scope of the game. I'd say the game is doing pretty well population-wise nowadays. I haven't had that many issues with queues and still plenty of people around, especially at night (I'm from Europe). There's an average of 1,500 players players online through Steam alone, but most players out there use the launcher since the Steam version is region-locked.

If you're curious about it, check it out. What do you have to lose?

They haven't given any fixed/firm dates yet because it's still only in beta in Korea so I don't think they want to commit until things are more clear. It wouldn't surprise me if it might be late-Summer, but I wouldn't get my hopes up until things are a bit more solid.

I suppose your answer is the best thing that I can hold on to. It would still be nice to hear some sort of confirmation from any of the western companies themselves.

Only time will tell. I'm really looking forward to this release. I just recently upgraded to a new computer (which is far more powerful than my laptop) and still encounter the same old issues as always.

You burned yourself out. Take a break.

Big yikes. Really big yikes.

That's the kind of incoherent raging people like to use as examples when calling out gamers in general.

I know it's going to be a big thing in South Korea, but has En Masse, Gameforge or Destiny.Games talked about this release for the west? I haven't been able to find any solid news online in this regard.

I'm not dense enough to be this upset over a matter of unresolved tickets. I've witnessed this company kill two of my favourite oldschool MMOs and the kind of crap they pulled on the market, including TERA. I'm afraid you're outright delusional in that regard.

I did follow the proper instructions to handle the whole GF account process, but still lost access to two of my accounts as a result. Support was unable to help in this matter as well by providing vague details and spitting the same robotic-like responses over the course of a few days. The forums were crawling with similar complaints.

I personally find EME's Support to be better ever since they overhauled it. I was never left on hold and most of my issues were resolved. Those that were not solved were explained by some degree, unlike Gameforge... which never even bothered to explain (or to provide any sort of refund whatsoever regardless of the date said items were purchased).

Why don't you go back to EU rather than work as product placement for a company that has nothing to do with these forums?

Lol! When was the last time you played EU Tera? Twitch codes, multiple events, Battle Pass and more...with a bit of grinding you get dyeable costumes, consumables and gear without spending a single dollar. And I don't mean counting on getting that super rare drop in top dungeons or spending all your money for that one item at TB.

I moved away from GF in 2015. It was back when they introduced 400€ loot boxes and locked noticeable items behind paywalls to the point it blocked progress.

Come on, it's Gameforge. Are you people so gullible that you prefer to ignore the 17 years worth of damage this company has brought to the European MMO market?

People. It's ten codes per server for each user. Don't abuse it and make it unfair to others.

Go with your gut, play what you like. Use a BuddyUp code to get some extra leveling rewards and just have fun.

If you want greedy, pay Gameforge a visit then.

You're yelling at the void. This topic bears nothing worthy of a discussion.

I refuse to believe that people genuinely want the level cap to be raised. Why? It's unnecessary at so many levels.

Blame the company for ping-related issues that only affect a small number of people is just... dumb? I'm playing on EU and have had no issues that weren't caused solely by my router / ISP.

I decided to fix a few more things about the thread. Some feedback would be appreciated.

I try to pretend Stepstone Isle doesn't exist. It's not relevant later on. Nothing that takes place in this island pays off, and most of the story will still refer to the events that took place on the Island of Dawn regardless.

You do realize there's a lot more titles that provide a "shine" like that, right? Some even have it worse, so you're really better off disabling titles altogether.

The month of May is right around the corner, so I thought it'd be worth re-opening the "BuddyUp!" code thread for those who are interested in getting the benefits from said codes. It is mostly aimed for new and returning players, but those who wish to try it out on a new server can still claim one. When a code is entered, both the mentor and the player who claimed said code will receive special items and boosts as they level up!

A limit of ten character codes for each server per user, please! Let's avoid making too much noise around here.

This is a thread meant to discuss and speculate about the game's true lore. As much as I enjoy that kind of enthusiasm, it is not meant for fan-fiction or for personal headcanons.

On a side-note, there's plenty of dragon and draconic-like names on websites similar to those mentioned above. Maybe you should check these out.

A petition wouldn't solve anything. EME can't do anything about it either way, only BHS can.

Different publishers, different games. Do. Not. Support. Gameforge.

Glad you found it helpful!

I think you're forgetting that this is a thing... all MMOs do? Did you know that character slots over at EU can cost more than 30$? And that they used to have 400$ loot boxes? Have you ever seen the 100$ prices for virtual houses in The Elder Scrolls Online? The list goes on and on, my friend...

@LiamDahvis said:
Tera eu has a pretty high population still...granted they pretty much spoon feed you the mats you need to enchant gear.

But it's Gameforge, though. They're a terrible company.

I used to think it was EME who worked on localizing the game for the western market, but then GF received a couple of updates a lot earlier... and then I remember reading about it somewhere that there's a specific team/company that works on that. Does anyone have any information on that?

@counterpoint said:
Well, the ones in Japan were marketed based on being well-known voice actors; that's the "selling point." They bring some of their characteristic "personality" to the roles, including delivering variations of trademark voice lines. I think the reason they didn't bring those over is because the base licensing fee is too high for these markets.

If you just get random/unknown voice talent to create variants of grunts/emotes and tried to sell it, I'm really not sure if you'd get that many buyers compared to the free ones. It'd probably have to be recognizable talent, but that increases the cost.

Not like I'm against the idea -- it's a neat idea -- I'm just honestly not sure if it'd be worth the money to implement.

I'm sure it would have boosted the marketing for Brawler and Gunner (for both EME and GF), considering they had hired specific actresses to work on the major trailers, teasers, and overview videos. I honestly wouldn't care if it were randoms, as long as the options were. I own over 20 characters, so naturally, some of the voices start getting stale after a while. It would be great to add some variety to that. I doubt it'll happen, especially now that none of the original cast has even returned to voice their characters (ex: Samael and Elleon).

I'm not sure if you guys are aware, but apparently, KTERA and JTERA (mainly this one) have released special voice packs that work as replacements for a playable character's voice. This gives the players more choices apart from the already five existing voices, and apparently, the Japanese version of the game has released over twenty voices!

I believe that this would be a great marketing practice for TERA! Not only would it allow EME to gain from this in a monetary sense, but would also allow players new ways to customize their characters even further. And it's not like the company's short on voice actors. We wouldn't even need dialogue, just a new set of battle grunts and sounds for the emotes.

I received an email just today in fact about the new update, so you should be getting it.

I recommend to check here to make sure you've opted into promotional emails:
https://account.enmasse.com/users/account

Other than that, I'm not sure. It's possible it gets filtered to spam or promotional tabs in your email, but other than that not sure -- it might be there's something wrong/broken about the email list.

I have all of it checked. Yet, still nothing.

I remember when I'd get all sorts of news and updates about the game via e-mail, but I haven't seen anything in a really, really long time. In the meanwhile, I keep getting stuff from Gameforge... and I don't even play there anymore. I've checked my spam folders and all of that, but there was nothing. How come?

Have you tried the repair options?

So I was trying to wrap up all my story missions, and while trying to get to the last chain of events before the "Fate of Arun" expansion, I couldn't help but notice... they were gone. I had no more quests left. That couldn't be right as I remember there being a crapton of quests and cutscenes missing in regards to the Argons! What happened? Is this a bug or did Krafton seriously remove another major questline from the game for no reason?

Never heard of being able to save UI settings by using the Toolbox before, so...

I believe it's possible with Tera Settings Saver.

The author of that mod is a pretty trashy and problematic person. I do not wish to support that. The mod itself is quite the headache to deal with, especially when its instructions are lacking any proper "instructions" to begin with.

Other publishers (such as Nexon, Pmang and Gameforge) have released a classic version of TERA (circa 2012-2014 versions of the game) and made it an event available for the public for an x amount of time. Korea, Japan, and Europe have released it and it gathered a lot of attention at the time (the EU version itself managed to catch the attention of over one million people on YouTube alone). The whole concept is so popular that there's a mobile version coming out that focuses on this classic feel of the old TERA.

But what about En Masse? Are they not going to release it just like its mother company and Gamefoge did? I find it rather odd that there have been o statements in regards to this. I've been noticing a significant wave of new and returning players these days, and I think TERA NA would greatly benefit from an event like this in 2020. It doesn't have to be permanent, none of the others were. The player just wants a chance to relive those old memories while others would like to experience how the first few years of the game were like.

I'm sure there are the resources and builds to run it, right?

It's one of the best-looking mounts of the game without any extreme and unnecessary effects. I was wondering if it's possible to get it?

OP i posted this in the wrong thread this was for the tera video thread you made my bad.

Then in that case, that other video wouldn't work whatsoever without the cinematics. There would be no way in hell to transmit that same kind of footage all by myself.

This mobile game decided to steal some of the iconic class icons for their crappy ad campaigns.

Aesthetically, the game still holds up well. I do believe most of the textures could use a smaller update and some animations a little fixing, but the most important feature this game would need... is a proper revamp of the engine and better optimization. Eastern MMOs are known for their messy UI, and Bluehole has already updated theirs like three or four times since the game's conception.

@Melyodis said:
Just my one cent you should have used your own in game footage instead of videos made by krafton or even a mix of the two those vid are old tera has changed alot since. you should shown the tera of today. But nice vid anyways.

What? I'm afraid you're wrong there. This is my footage and those two are my characters. I recorded this just outside of Velika the other day... I even did a photoshoot with them. If you still believe these two were designed by Krafton, then I dare you to find a source behind their designs or any official links that lead to the footage depicted in the video submitted above.

There you go. Which one is your favorite?

  1. PvP isn't something that's that alive and requires a lot more grind. The community behind it is small, but if you still wanna look into it, I'd suggest looking up guides online.
  2. Not that I'm aware of any recent ones, but you can always purchase the game and get Founder status; meaning you'll get more character and bank slots + a free account-wide mount. Plenty of copies on places like Amazon, eBay, G2A and so on.
  3. Velika, the PvE one.
  4. You'll find guilds advertising around, especially in a place like Crescentia. Just avoid one called "Paranoid Creatures", which has been regarded as toxic due to bad management.

Depending on whether or not you're interested in purchasing the game, I'd say Elite Status is worth it. But make sure TERA is something you want to pursue before subscribing.

Reaper.

Besides that one, not really? I guess Sorcerer when casting energy and lightning. Warrior has skills that cast out blood.

That's about it.

For reference, here's the older thread.

Back in 2014 I made a video about TERA that featured the song This Is War. The video turned out to be a hit (managing to reach nearly 30,000 views). However, there's plenty of things wrong about it. That is why I decided to work on a remake last year, which turned out great! I still thought I could improve on a few things, and so I ended up getting back on the editing once more.

You can watch the video here:

I would love to hear your thoughts about it, so feel free to comment!

You mean the one that is coming out in October? http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/skywatch-aerial-island-preview

Yeah. On its own, it's not that much big of an update. But it's like @counterpoint said, it seems like they decided to release it at different times to keep the community busy. But all of this does feel like an expansion, especially since the story is now heading to a different way with a new villain and all of that.

I'm not sure if everyone remembers, but there was a lot of talking last year about a new TERA expansion. It was being advertised the same way Fate Of Arun was back in 2014. But it never came to be. Instead, we got these kinds of updates throughout the year:

  • Changes to gear;
  • Changes to classes;
  • Increase of the level cap from 65 to 70;
  • New achievements and unlocks;
  • Additional class skills and quests (Apex);
  • Additional dungeons;
  • Upcoming release of a new map;

These seem like features that would naturally come with an expansion. How come it was all splintered and divided into smaller update throughout the year instead of a full release? Or maybe I'm the one who's just confusing things up.

And on a side-note, is there any news about any re-releases of a class or an entirely new class in the near future?

Everything seems to be working just fine now. I leveled up a character from 40 to 65 last night and she got everything through the mail!

Why is this here? Registering for an MMO is the most straightforward thing there is. It's not like the website itself doesn't tell you what to do... This feels like a bot account.

Edit: It is a bot account. Do not click on that link.

It really is weird. I kinda envy @RonLaw in this case. The old launcher (or heck, the 2015 version) look a lot better than the EME one.

@RonLaw said:

The change was automatic. How are you using the old TERA launcher? Do you have any screenshots of it?

But if you guys are from EU, just play on the EU servers. IMO, they seem to run the game better than EME. I would play there too but the ping is just not playable for me.

Gameforge has too much of a terrible history with their games and even TERA for me to want to give it another shot. As am atter of fact, their new 'launcher' broke down my 2013 account. Hard pass for me.

Hey everyone.

There's a chance I might get a friend of mine to try out TERA, and he could end up getting into it. The thing is, fresh F2P accounts have way too many limitations and I was hoping there was a way that he could buy the game without going through any issues. The problem is I've been unable to find any available keys out there besides Amazon (which would ship a physical copy + extra costs due to regional differences). All that I've been able to find were EU keys while the NA ones are all out of stock o being sold at ridiculous prices in comparison to the former.

Any tips here?

Strange.

I'm not experiencing any lag issues, and I'm playing from the EU! I even have a friend who's from Russia and he hasn't encountered any problems. Have you pondered about the possibility of trying out TERA's Toolbox (Proxy) as a way to improve your latency?

I never had any issues when these changes happened, but apparently, Gameforge's take on it has been one hell of a shitstorm over at TERA EU. They've actually raised a lot more problems than issues, going as far as having players lose their TERA accounts in the process or breaking the game's installation as a whole. Did TERA NA experience any issues?

I really hope it comes back. It served as enough motivation to log back in at times.

If only we could have crossplay like Final Fantasy XIV.

Hopefully, it'll come back soon. It was a nice way to get some Fashion Coupons.

Hey everyone,

For a long time now I've been wanting to get APEX on my Slayer. It was a struggle to get the right Item Level, but now I'm at a 440. And so I looked around Highwatch for the so-called quest that would grant me access to the APEX questline. It's nowhere to be seen. There's all this talk about a banquet, but I can't find it anywhere. What am I missing?

The subscription system has to appeal to the public audience. Star Wars: The Old Republic and The Elder Scrolls Online have nailed that practice. While it's possible to play the game without the optional subscription, players will still be attracted towards that method due to all the offerings and potential.

This is not the case for Elite here. I have never ever considered subscribing to this service, and just like the OP mentioned, the EU counterpart is far better in comparison. There has to be variety and the player needs to feel like their purchase was worthwhile.
This is a terrible idea. We already have an alternative progression system implemented into the game, so what's the point of adding five more levels? There's an already established gearing system that has demanded hundreds of hours and in-game resources to complete; increasing the level cap will turn all of that gear obsolete and increase the mindless grind even further. It will also affect the already existing "endgame content" and create a series of issues.

If games like ESO, GW2, and SWTOR were to do something like that... there would be an uproar.
black desert is not the only game has fishing skills example... metin2 from 2004..

I just hope the same thing that happened in 2015 or 2016 happens this year. The economy just breaks.

So I logged on to the website... and yeah, it's true. My account just got 500 EMP. I checked with a few friends and most of them said they didn't get anything. Well, I did buy the game all the way back in 2015 and made some purchases over the years. I just wanna check if other people did too. I know they didn't do this simply for the sake of generosity. EME is still doing damage control and the rest of the e-mail keeps talking about how great Black Friday purchases are and stuff like that.

I spent a few hours browsing online. Most of these issues are Bluehole's fault. There's nothing EME and GF can do about them.
Not even Gameforge is this hungry.
No idea what the complaint is about when i introduced the issues weeks ago ._.

I didn't come across your thread back then.
Ah tried this with controller. Doesnt work :( hopefully they sort this out.

They've been removing more and more features from the controller options, so I highly doubt it.
How would you go about assigning numbers or controller buttons to those extra keybind trays?

The additional skill slots can be found on the edges of the main one.Here's the one on the right: unknown.png

You can then change them like this on the Options: unknown.png

No idea about a controller, though.

With the introduction of the new UI, however, the slot that should work as "C" (the third slot next to the mouse) is gone. This is going to have a negative impact on my rotations and give me a hard time in general.

? ? ?

Why is it going to give you a hard time if you can just change it back and apparently you already know that you can ?

Because the slot has been removed? Some of the classes nearly fill up the entire skillbar, especially when one adds potions and other important items for fights. How is that so hard to understand?

The point I was getting across was that you do not need to "struggle" by learning a new iframe/escape key when you could just rebind something else to C and take the hit from the lost hotkey somewhere else where it won't affect you as much, like a consumable or a mount, or a pet, or whatever.

It's not like I have much of a choice. I just hope that those smaller and additional skillbars that you can add next to the main one will be of any help. I've never used them before, though. Can one attach numbers / letters to those or are they like most MMOs out there (SWTOR comes to mind) where it's needed to click it with a mouse?

you can change the keys to whatever you want in the shortcut settings lmao
i'm surprised this is stumping so many people

You don't say. I'm afraid this thread just went all woooosh on you since you've completely missed the point. I'm not talking about the change in keys, I'm talking about the removal one of the major skill slots lmao. "The old UI had 27 skill slots, but the new one only has 26".

Please read before taking the thread into different direction.

You complained about several things. The ability to change your hotkeys addresses one of your complaints. Not sure why someone telling you that would offend you, when they're just trying to help you.

I think it's hardly any help when someone throws "lmao" left and right and deliberately takes the thread itself as a joke.

I don't really like using the setup that is common for MOBAs, so I've grown used to use all of the numbers and F keys for over a decade by now. I also relied heavily on C skills as an escape mechanic, especially on Brawler, Lancer and Berserker. With the introduction of the new UI, however, the slot that should work as "C" (the third slot next to the mouse) is gone. This is going to have a negative impact on my rotations and give me a hard time in general. It's kind of a mess and I don't really have the patience in me to re-structure everything from scratch again...

The old UI had 27 skill slots, but the new one only has 26.

Hello guys...

Just an update on the status from TERA TH..

They have recently released news that they will officially have an english server (SEA) in November 2018..

For SEA players who are interested to continue playing TERA with low ping, probably can look forward for it..

I hope this information is helpful to all fellow SEA players!

https://m.facebook.com/TERA.SEA.PLAYWITH/?ref=content_filter

Quite interesting. But I don't see many people playing SEA or even TH? How are these versions still afloat?
