Perhaps some useless charms served a purpose back then when the game was in its early development stages. The same way useless crystals exists that nobody use. They were just kept intact ingame.

OMG you really don't know that speed charm was fixed when FoA or the Gunner came out and now increases the overall attack speed? (I came to and idea that it was never wrong just players were confused because we tend to call the basic skill to basic attack, however, the game never calls it basic attack and it wanted to refer to your basic - attack speed like your basic crit factor or basic power and not basic attack - speed. I guess it gave attack speed according to your basic - attack speed, which is 100 for a lancer e.g.,)
But to end the useless clueing it works and great for healers (at least on EU it does).

You can get both relentless and Endurance together because they are different charms .

Relentless replaces Infused though, which is almost always more important.

In PvP, it seems to be: Power, Mirror, Infused. And again in PvP there's the occasional Strength being burned... and when that happens the reactions aren't exactly friendly towards "whoever just did that".

In normal PvP it's probably better to not use mirror. The only reason CS "requires" mirror is because tanks/cannons are a huge pain in the arse to deal with and mirror is rather effective against them. Against other players mirror is worthless even in CS. You do occasionally see endurance used if the plan is a nship drop on left inner for what should be obvious reasons.

Everything except Power, Enduring and Infused, is bad for PvE party/raid.

There are some situational differences, for example - when everyone has charms and moves forward, the healer stays back and charms himself with Greater Keen instead of power. Healers have no use of Power when in party, because power does nothing to healing spells. Keen however, contributes quite a bit for those sweet crit heals for 80k. Could mean the difference between life and death.

Relentless vs Endurance - endurance is always better. Endurance alongside Defense are the modifiers that say how much damage you take. Example - big boss attack. This attack takes 100% of your health and you die. Those 100% are then modified with stats such as gear, defense, endurance, everything that you have, and then applied. Let's say that after it's calculated, the attack then takes 33% of your health. You have relentless charm, which means you have more health. 33% of more health means that the healer has to heal you twice, if he doesn't crit-heal the first time. Less health but more endurance charm further reduces that attack and it takes 25% health instead.

Cunning vs Infused - infused wins, no contest. Infused has mana regeneration, cunning just gives slightly bigger mana pool, but doesn't fill it.

For everything else - the priority is always to kill faster than to survive longer. The best defense is offense. The faster you kill your enemy, the less chance he has to kill you. Simple.

You can get both relentless and Endurance together because they are different charms .
only time I have used keen on a dps is if I have absolutely no crit yet on gear cause I'm full idonal armour and jewellery after hitting 65(absolutely no crit rate over your base crit), as soon as I get crit jewellery though that is replaced for power.

I use keen a lot on my mystics and sometimes on a priest.

Well if anything that goes to show how useful it is, in my 3+ years of playing Tera I've never used one since I only ever heal in Kumasylum, so I didn't remember it replaced infused.

Well, I only know it because I've had far too many stupids replace my infused with swift and then say "it's better cause carriers" and them I'm like "good for you, now make sure to run superfast cause I ain't got no mana to heal you".
TWMagimay on 10/27/2015, 05:06 PM - view
I was nodding until I got to this part. Swift replaces infused, not power, making it completely worthless outside kumasylum(and there it's only for carriers).

Swift, replaces power, unfortunately making it useless for DPS players, for healers it's moderately useful, but for DPS in PvE there's no reason to use it over power, and in PvP you'd be better off swapping out your optional 4th crystal for a swift instead of replacing your power/keen charm.

Rules of Conduct

tl;dr – Play nice with others, don’t be an [filtered]!

For those of you who actually take the time to read this, the rules of conduct are guidelines that we ask you to follow while playing TERA and participating on our websites. It's safe to say that these may change from time to time so it’s worth checking back every once in a while. Ignorance of the rules does not excuse violation of them. Violations may result in temporary suspensions or permanent destruction of your account.

1. TERA is a mature rated game. This means there are aspects of our design that make it that way. Mature does not mean you get to act like an [filtered]. In fact, by its definition that would be immature.

2. Do not attack someone personally, including their race, religion, nationality, ethics, sexual preference, or personal beliefs. Keep it clean.

3. Avoid using copyrighted and trademarked material.

4. Do not pretend to be an En Masse or Bluehole Studios employee unless you want to be banned.

5. Don’t harass, stalk, or purposely do things to make someone else feel uncomfortable.

6. Do not post or use graphic sexual, grotesque, and violent language or images. There are enough websites out there for this. We don’t need another one.

7. Child Predation or Pornography = BAN! and possibly the authorities get involved too.

8. Personal Information: Do not share personal information about yourself or other individuals.

9. Masked Profanity: We all know you can use l33t 5p34k to mask bad stuff. Don’t do it.

10. Real Money Solicitations: As if MMOs need more spamming for gold. This also includes power-leveling services, selling characters, items, or anything else. These services lead to account theft, credit card fraud, and stolen identities. It also sucks.

11. Advertising your own or someone else’s business or ventures is not acceptable behavior.

12. Scamming: This is like stealing. Don't do it.

13. Spamming: We get it. You have some awesome armor for sale. Saying it every five seconds is not the way to sell it.

14. Cheating: Use third party programs, macros, client side hacks, or other things that give you an unfair advantage in the game. Just because others haven’t gotten caught (yet) doesn't mean you should do it.

15. Gambling: running or participating in a gambling-for-gold operation within the game is a no-no.

16. Hacking: This goes without saying, but don’t hack us, or someone else. Don't distribute, or promote material related to this. It’s not cool.

17. Trolling: You don’t want to be "that person".

18. Spamming Support: We want your questions and we want to answer them, but sending us 100 emails about the same subject before we get the chance to answer the first one only slows us down more. It also increases the response time for other players.

19. Game exploits: let us know about these instead of exploiting them. If you use TERA’s game mechanics in any way the GMs deem unsportsmanlike or that deviates from the spirit of the game, the GM staff will not only make frownie faces at you, but possibly pursue disciplinary action.

20. Private Servers: Do not participate, promote, or set one up.

21. CAPS LOCK: Avoid excessive use of the caps lock. It can get annoying.

22. Don't include hidden links to websites.

23. …

24. Rule 23 said "Don't make empty forum posts."

25. Do not request, arrange, or offer pirated materials, illegal activities, or illegal drugs.

26. Do not use a foreign language in an effort to avoid getting caught for breaking these rules.

27. Our employees will use their discretion to interpret if any action warrants moderation, whether it is mentioned here or not. We also have a magic genie that grants us the ability to make more rules, but we'd rather use those powers to make cool stuff for you.
