TERA PC - General Discussion: Male Brawler With Female Animations? WTF?
only one thing I can think of: its a bug but if it was intended its not funny......at all
Given the developer's track record, I don't know how you could have seriously entertained the idea that they would design a whole new animation set for a gender-swapped version of an existing class.
ah so I have to watch a man do gay animations and call it fun? nty

Leave it to BHS to half [filtered] something.

Usually, bodybuilders are.....

Is it really that big a deal? Not to mention I thought it was common knowledge at this point that the men would have the same animation set as the women.

Hell, with the exception of the [L -> L -> L -> H] basic combo, the base animations don't even look that feminine.

didn't know male brawler animations included one of him absolutely smashing another man's bussy

colour me interested!!!!
Well if they are just going to skin a female then bring on the other gender locked races. I'll take a male version of the gender locked classes with female animations any day.

maybe the male brawler identifies himself as a woman lol. jk
Almost all tera models share the same ini animation file, is just adjust the morphs in the new character due to geometrical bones mistakes, you can add popori gunner if wish it only take a couple of weeks to match bones an animations, but guess male version , dont sale things as female version, so they're just lazy to end the work for each class.

I don't know why people are acting surprised. They did it with Gunner. You should of expected it to happen to male Brawler. Not much you can change with the animations tbh.

To be honest I'm sorta disappointed they didn't halfass Elin Gunner enough (hue), the idle combat stance of Castanic Gunner is 10/10 and I wanted that pose
It's been known since it released on KTera that all animations are the same, including the death which is probably the most awkward animation on males, everything else is fine?

Love how fragile everyone who complains about this crap is, you finally got the ability to play a male because playing female is impossible because it somehow harms your male image irl and now the animations which literally don't have a gender now bother you....wow.

I think the root problem is that they wanted a male only exclusive class, and are now nitpicking every little flaw.
u guys are right I was wrong for thinking this update could be good my bad guys
giphy.gif

Pretty much sums up how most of the players feel right now.

I think it's more focused than that: their male character doesn't appear manly enough (whatever the hell that's supposed to mean). I have reason to believe the OP's recent statement confirms that hypothesis.
I think it's so cute, their in combat stance makes me think they are saying, "Put em up!"

can't believe the word bussy is a forum violation it isn't even a real word

gay slang is just too much huh what's next you gonna ban the word wig?
The male brawler doesn't do mid air spin when jumping though.
Or did i missed it?
Guess i have to go in game and spam jump some more to see if they actually flip mid air..
:fearful:

I decided to spend some time on a male Brawler after reading this post, and all I can say is that you (OP) are a whiny piece of work. I didn't notice anything overly feminine about the character. I noticed nothing that would make me question their sexuality. This complaining just for the sake of complaining has to stop.
In the words of Peter Griffin from family guy. " Oh my god, who the *bleep* Cares."
TERA PC - General Discussion#25 Gelos03/14/2018, 10:38 PM
actually male brawler reminds me of every other male human class not much different
Sorry, OP, I can't see it either. My guy seems just fine.
TERA PC - General Discussion#27 Ayi03/15/2018, 05:54 AM
I didn't see it either, can you someone post a .gif, maybe I'm missing it

it's more about the fact it took 3 years to even make the lowest ammount of effort ever produced by developers of any game, ever.
and also most men play female chars, so duno what you're refering to with "impossible because it somehow harms your male image irl"
Why do you assume most ppl refused to play female brawler, because female?
Just because people complain about gender lock, doesn't mean they refuse to touch the class. If they like brawler, they'll play it anyway, even if they would have PREFERRED to play as male - and for 3 years they didn't have any other option.
I hope you understand that nothing would ever change, if no one said anything - no bugs would be fixed, no balance patches would be relased, because no one gave feedback.
If it was a feature that you could give your male char, female animation, that would be cool, but that's not the case. Devs were simply to lazy to make an effort. Defending it in the name of accidental diversity, just because it fits your narrative, is ridiculous.
It's stuff like this that makes the game look like an afterthought or school project, rather than a bilion dollar project - it's unprofessional, and ruin their image - it gives the impression they don't care about the game, and we can't expect much for future content - why invest in a game that even the devs don't take seriously?
TERA PC - General Discussion#29 Delimon03/15/2018, 02:37 PM
First off I wanted no classes to be gender locked.

Second they said this class was 3 years in the making yet all they did was reuse everything so 3 years of what?????

Third, what is wrong with wanting to play as a man when I am a man? I don't enjoy staring at fake tits and butt and especially not borderline [filtered].

I don't have security issues with my gender, I'm a man, end of the story. I act like a man and I want to role play as a man, not a damn female.
no one is suggesting that anyone is insecure about their manly manness. im not saying that it wouldn't be nice to have all classes come out for all races when released. I for one am glad that we females get to play a game where we can play as females, and that they don't look brutish or mannish. and also we can make them prettier. I would suggest that if people want male classes as well as the female classes, then show their support by letting their purse or wallet do the talking. I felt like brawler should have been released to males instead of females to begin with. the only class that I think should have been race locked were the reapers, and that was due to the storyline and starting area. I wish tera would have done that with all the new classes . so everyone , lets make loads of male brawlers and buy from the cash shop to show some love, and then maybe people will get a male gender locked class first.

Yea sucks it was such a sloppy copy paste and I would like all classes open to every race+gender but BHS has found the most profit in just creating female classes, and with a game this old and lacking population they don't want to put major effort into something that won't have great returns.

That's what I meant about men having issues with playing a female because they suddenly have to RP as their in-game gender which is opposite their own. I'm well aware most men play females and the class will be played regardless of gender if the person doesn't care about that. The OP of this thread seemed very offended that the male brawler was using female animations rather than the sloppyness of BHS.

well considering how sloppy they were with male brawler, they could have very easily done the same for all other classes, in a week - wouldn't have taken much effort at all.
And porting the game to console seems way more costly, and i don't think it will generate very large new player-base.
In the long run, i think it will further reduce their income, if they do stuff like this.
And enough people have been annoyed by it, that they actually did unlock male brawler, so it's not that few ppl play male characters - and as others pointed out, since new classes are genderlocked, it forces people to play more female chars, which in turn shows more ppl playing female chars, which give the impression that people prefer female...had the new classes not been genderlocked, there wouldn't have been as big of a difference. Obviously ppl will be attracted to new classes, so if all new classes are genderlocked, well ya...
Hopefully male brawlers will be available at console launch, so we can see how many male vs female brawlers there are, and hopefully they will stop genderlocking new classes, and expand the other locked ones.

Females have always had preferential treatment over males... even before new classes were introduced. It has nothing to do with how many people play which gender either. It has everything to do with who spends the most money on the game, and the people who play female characters have historically been willing to spend more money on cosmetics (the game's main source of income since it became f2p).

Well, Male Human specific stuff still retains, like he keeps the same run, jumps, emotes and such (including ride) but when entering combat or casting a skill, the copy & paste triggers. Frankly after playing a Brawler in female form, the only thing that looks stupid is the death pose, could at least copy that from an archer or anything else that the weapon doesn't interfere with dying animation. Everything else is generic enough.
As I said for other classes too, most animations nowadays are generic enough, it's not like Elin Priest's cutesy spins or such that would look stupid on other race, even Ninja and Reaper are quite generic in that sense, with some occasional exceptions
