TERA PC - General Discussion: Fashion Coupon Store Update - Phase 1
Tonight, we're rolling out Phase 1 of our Fashion Coupon store update.

I've attached a full list of added items below, but in the interest of transparency first I want to provide some information about the process.

Many players might be under the impression that adding hundreds of “missing” items to the Fashion Coupon store is just a matter of copying over a list of items available in other regions, but this is not the case.

Our initial comparison list included suggestions from players in the Forums, our Player Council, as well as an examination of the entire item datebase for all regions.

The process resulted in some potential new items, but also eliminated many others from consideration.

Here’s some of our reasons:

- Suggested items were meant for Skycastle merchants, which expire when a character logs out or leaves the Skycastle.
- Suggested items had in-game requirements, such as clearing all the floors of Dreadspire.
- Suggested items had a large gold sale value.
- Suggested items were exclusive to another region.
- Suggested items were not costumes or weapon skins, but instead actual gear or weapons.

When it comes to items exclusive to another region, we have no control over that item’s appearance or availability.
Even if we could offer it in our region, if the item was changed in any way in that other region, our offering would also change, or perhaps be removed from the game entirely.

Further, many rejected items still have templated styles associated with them, which don’t function properly in our environment. For these items, we may be able to turn those styles into weapon skins or costumes in the future, with the new items being exclusive to our NA servers.

With that said, we'll continue to evaluate items for the Fashion Coupon store, and add them as appropriate.

Thanks for reading, and as promised, here are the items rolling out with Phase 1:

rip the guy who bought that today
Very nice. Im not that troubled about the prices of the Eagle Warrior helmet, but the update is very welcomed. Finally i can have the noctenium lance at long last.

By the way, @CobaltDragon How many phases will this update have? considering there are still more items to come, roughly how many phases you think is gonna take for us to have a complete Fashion Coupon store? Also, i am still wondering why Gunner, Reaper, Brawler and Valkyrie, cannot use the other armors like the other classes. I get they have unique armor models, but why cant they use the old ones too? any insight on that? And with the coming of the Male Brawler, theres a lot of very nice looking old armor models that human lancer and zerk can use, but unfortunately, Male Brawler may not be able to.

Great news for everyone.

It may not be the best thing we need to be improved but this easy the pain on many players and makes Tera more apealing for future players also.
Rip to myself who bought a warrior helm for 40k.

@CobaltDragon, Thank you!!
The community gives credit when credit is due.

Second phase I believe is about the costumes right?!
Can you tell-us when it gonna take place?!

Obs: why not add the 'Notes by Dolme' since it's not even in the cash shop anyway. (like the eagle helm)

It is low effort because he wasn't talking about "gold sale value" on the broker, but sale value to a merchant (i.e. to generate new gold). That it's tradeable is interesting, but not problematic (it just pushes gold around).
thank you so much for bringing back the hat of sweet dreams. I was holding on to my fed bills all this time just in case you guys brought it back out. now I gotta farm more fashion coupons.
TERA PC - General Discussion#15 Bastolve02/28/2018, 01:13 PM
Not certain if anyone noticed but how come Reaper's noctenium weaponskin is exactly the same as Passionate Phoenix Scythes except they charge 900 fashion coupons for the noctenium and only 200 for Phoenix? :/ 9jalY33.png
TERA PC - General Discussion#16 ElinLove02/28/2018, 01:39 PM
Helm thing reminds me when I bought Bomber Boxes for 50K each after they dropped from like 90K each, kept them in bank for use for my alts whenever I felt like, and since my long hiatus I got fkd and they were worth 3K when I came back. Still had like 2~3 boxes left anyway.

Oh well it happens, ain't that bothered since my intention wasn't to hoard them in 1st place neither was I desperate to sell them at any moment.

hue I just hope this doesn't mean the removal of the cheaper one

TERA PC - General Discussion#17 Zoknahal02/28/2018, 01:57 PM
Imo ppl are over reacting to the eagle helm being made available for pretty much free. Only the ones who stocked up on this helm for later re sale are being affected.

I personally think this was fair. We don't need such things as exclusivity here. There will be some things ofc that can remain exclusive, like the battle crown, but this helmet should not be one of em.
Remove Chooser of the Slain Armour, limited choice of valk costumes? complaints its un-obtainable in game as of now? To bad! should of been part of the grind to get one. For that matter if your giving out event specific items for fashion coupons id like my crystalline mask please. Why not add in the blackened death chooser runeglaive for 900 fashion coupons and just null the entire valk leveling event? 1000 Fashion coupons to unlock each of the (6)? Valk titles associated with the event while we are at it.

Ninja's noctenium skin also seems to be exactly the same as the North Star skin.

[...]
EDIT: Wow nevermind the damage is already done. For those that leveled a valk during the event we salute you.

Eh, frankly I got the outfit during the leveling event, and... Hey, it's just leveling a character. I ain't any special because of that, nothing that affects me if people want the costume that I could get on that event and don't even like by the way.

I can get the feeling of people wanting to protect some special title from being handled like candy, or if there was some mask for, say, Master of Wonderholme, let's say you get that mask by being among the top 10 fastest parties to clean Wonderholme Hard Mode during it's day, I understand if people would want to protect the exclusivity of such an item - it's a whole different feat than just leveling an alt.

I kinda get the whole deal about the alliance masks too because of this, but don't quite agree, as at the end of the alliance it was so easy that I remember even quite crappy PVPers managed to get that mask. Heck a guild mate of mine, with higher tier PVP gear than me, barely beat me on duels or got more kills in CS/FWC, and still got the mask. And I'm no pro. Still, there's some value to it, even if I don't agree how much of a value.
I hope you guys add the weapon models we see leveling 1-60,

Because those classes were added after alliance. Neither reaper, gunner, brawler, ninja or valk had noctenium gear.

I think there are two Drunkard's Overcoat items in the Fashion coupon shop under leather. they look the same but have different icons. they cost the same as well.

I've wanted for alice dress costume for long time ago, my dream to had and cloth up one...

Those dresses black and white, will never be available in na. They are exclusive to Japan. The costume is from an npc from the game mabinogi btw.

Those are exclusive for korean server.

I tried to touch on that with this portion :
many rejected items still have templated styles associated with them, which don’t function properly in our environment. For these items, we may be able to turn those styles into weapon skins or costumes in the future, with the new items being exclusive to our NA servers.
Some of the styles ( such as the 1-60 leveling Armor / Weapons ) could be a bit faster to add in the next Phase, depending on whether or not we get them in versions that are exclusive to our NA servers, while other styles might take longer and require a new request be made to Bluehole, to convert styles on items into costumes / weapon skins.

Please keep in mind that I am open to additional suggestions for things that are "missing", so if any players feel like providing lists similar to what was seen in previous Forum Threads, I'll be happy to review it, adding either a submitted list of names or item ID's to my already compiled list, removing any duplicates as I go.

As for your other question, I believe that might also comes down to a request to Bluehole to add Reapers, Gunners, Brawlers, Ninjas, and Valkyries to those existing Armor / Weapons.
TERA PC - General Discussion#28 Wadi02/28/2018, 06:05 PM
They are both named Drunkard's overcoat, the first on page 2, first column 2nd row. the second is on page 8, 2nd column 4th row.
This is very nice! I can finally use the Eagle Helm on mains/alts without having to pay so much at the broker. But i think that 300 coupons for this helm is a bit low? Why not 500? Or i am just exaggerating?

And i am really grateful for all the hard work put in there ( checking the items from the entire database and such ).

By the way.. What just happened to En Masse? It started to be kinda amazing.

And i am really grateful for all the hard work put in there ( checking the items from the entire database and such ). Also, is there a chance to add this Priest Weapon Skin by any chance? I remember being able to use it some three years ago through some NPC reskin option and now i was able to find it again when leveling up a new priest.

JWgLwcO.jpg

That is the Dreamkeeper/Agnitor/Abyss/Bloodvision/etc weapon model, yeah i want those too added in the fashion shop soon, together with the fraywind models.

Cobalt has been pretty amazing his entire tenure, (not biased...)

Alliance masks would be nice, also hope this low level valkyrie "armor" (from Stepstone isle) could be added.

For all suggestions, pictures aren't quite as helpful to me, and I do actually need an in-game name or item ID for all suggestions. Thx.

Ok, its Crisping Cuirass, Supple Workgloves and Trapper's Snagged Boots, level 10 leather armor set.
Crystalline Mask

What about adding in store items in rotation for like 5-10k fashion coupons for like a month or so? Something up there so that fashion coupons can gain some value.

Like a store item that really don't sell that well but is a really nice look.
No thanks on the crystalline mask UNLESS it's a different item than the original.

I would personally want the imperator weapons as weapon skins, but I don't know the item ids. Hopefully someone else may know. The name of the ninja weapon itself is the Protestar off the top of my head if that helps.

I figured this was the case. However, Brawler got a skin that's unique in the shop, and Gunner got a red re-color of the Celeboom/Exalted Arcannon. I'm pretty sure both of those skins are used for avatar weapons you come across while leveling, but I couldn't tell you exactly which ones they are (I think Brawler is the one you get in the low 40s, and Gunner is one of the ones after level 60?). Valkyrie also got a re-color, but it's barely noticeable and looks almost identical to the Vile Runepike.

Dagon Avatar Weapon skins
item : no idea ( was Dreatwards model weapon skin )

If you guys want it back should do something about cuv or something similar to the old alliance.

Wonder how that site you using gets those item codes and such, and wonder/hope they also don't change by builds.

I mean you can somehow crack up the game (usually for this type of stuff quite easily just opening the packets) but anyway interested in how it's done, or if there is some other way to find it out.

Here goes the huge wall of text (I also deleted some other things and added space and stuff to make it easy to read):

By the way, I sent a similar long list (with items in the same range), but most of them fell into the categories in the OP (EU-exclusive, Skycastle-exclusive, temporary, etc.). I hope they can find a way to get appropriate versions from BHS so we can have them as regular usable skins in our region.

Don't think I forgot about these.
They were kept within my document, even if it takes a request to get them. =)

I'm happy that effort is being made to overhaul this system. However, I'm strongly opposed to the addition of certain exclusive items to the Fashion Coupon shop. I don't agree with the people who suggest that items such as Alliance masks should be made publicly available. I'd like one myself, but the people who have them have made the effort to be where they needed to be, and do what they needed to do, to earn them. It's bad enough that things from reputation merchants were put into the FC shop. It does nothing but devalue these items, and the effort put into obtaining them, by just releasing them for everyone.
TERA PC - General Discussion#58 Pages03/01/2018, 03:25 AM
Please don't add the Alliance Masks. KTERA already added a "Mask" gear item that looks like the alliance masks will make the old Alliance Masks useless anyway. At least let people who grinded them keep their trophy.

Even though the new mask armor slot is currently using the Echelon mask icon, I have faith that BHS will end up adding a "new" mask/upgraded mask that uses the Crystalline Mask template at some point.
i support putting alliance mask in coupon shop, there is no other way to get them anymore it's unfair to new players
plus having them in the game will certainly boost the fashion statement which will benefit many (including older players for new chars that they have created) - i dont understand why people prefer to grind for it still and want to keep it to themselves when it can be openly available.
At this time, I think we're going the route of keeping as many earned items exclusive as possible, with the only real exceptions being items that had already been in the Fashion Coupon store previously, like all of the "made exclusively for you by Meruma" types, and some of the costumes offered when a new class was released.
As we get ready for additional Phases, i'll try my best to ensure the above stays true, and will probably rely on our Player Council to help prevent me from adding anything that should remain exclusive, due to how it was previously obtained through in-game methods.
With that said, I definitely understand the frustration from those who participated and earned the above mention items when they were first introduced.

There being no way to get them now is the point. They're exclusive. People want to keep it to themselves because they put in the grind, and they don't deserve to have that effort undermined by having the same reward practically given away. You'd be in favor of this argument as well if you had ever earned anything of value.

You know... The same was said about the Kelsaik Mask....
TERA PC - General Discussion#64 Equitas03/01/2018, 04:35 AM
I was just thinking about that earlier. I wasn't around when Kelsaik's Nest was, what I assume to be, part of endgame content. I'm guessing there were some conditions involving defeating Kelsaik in order to get that mask. It's not fair that the people who accomplished that had their rewards rendered meaningless. Unfortunately, the damage has been done and I can only hope things like this don't happen again in the future.

The solution that time, such that it was, was to create a copy and give it a different name, so that it looked the same but you'd know the difference upon further inspection. The same solution could potentially be used again, if people are open to the idea.

Personally, I don't have very strong feelings about exclusivity after many years have passed (it's like a timed exclusive), but I do understand the argument for people who want to keep it exclusive, too.

Thanks to all involved on this update! I liked the addition of the noctenium weapons and the gothic dress variants for reapers. Also, it's nice to finally have a coupon skin for brawlers that looks like it fits into the game's aesthetics, among all the "new era" classes brawlers had the smallest selection of weapon skins on both the cash shop and fashiop coupon store.
I still want them to add permanent firey halo @CobaltDragon . I know we can keep buying them every month for the temp ones, but having them available for perm would be very nice.
Thanks for eagle warrior helm best hat in game but always epic overpriced, finally can spend those 9999 fashion coupons, best update since male brawler. Keep doing a great job, thanks

I have to agree with this because if the alliance masks were in game then i could understand that players who are grinding for them could deserve to have them as exclusive items but since the items are no longer in game then i think that it is fair to let anyone else have it. And especially since the alliance content will not comeback anytime soon. Also, the alliance pvp died with one year before the content was removed and the grind was not really that hard since you could join the alliance with the least members active and get exarch with little effort mostly from dailies - leveling up alts for the mask from scratch since they were getting alliance points from leveling was also extremely easy- .. So whoever got the masks before the content was removed did not actually put that much effort into it and simply got them because the content was still available ( it is not like they cleared this hard mode dungeon that was actually "hard" ).

In my case, i have around three or four masks since i am playing for years and i could always jump in and get one - especially when pvp was in its prime and it was even fun to do it- so it is not like i want them for myself but i still think that others should have them if they wanted to..

TERA PC - General Discussion#72 Zoknahal03/01/2018, 04:14 PM
I too agree that alliance mask should become available to public.

But once again, we are back to the time when kelsaik nest hm was removed alongside other dungeons. With it ofc, it's exclusive reward, the kelsaik mask.

People just like now, raged at the option of having the mask made available to everyone, because their "exclusivity" was in danger. It also came to the fact that some people hard work would be thrown to the trash by giving the last to anyone, even when they never cleared the dungeon.

In the end, everyone settled by having a copy of the mask, with different name and tooltip, made available to everyone.

I can guess the same will happen here. If the alliance mask are made available to everyone, the ones who have it already will without a doubt demand the mask to be removed because their exclusivity is being attacked.

Should this happen, we should ask the people who have the masks: how we make available this mask while keeping your exclusivity? What color should we change it to, so that you don't come telling us "the free mask is better looking than the exclusive one, I demand action!"? What name should we rename it to? And more questions.

I believe that there are not enough color choices, and the "white" and "red" version of those costumes look rather "pink" and "purple."

I'm also all in for Alice dress but the issue is with BHS allowing it or not. Sadly, it's bugged and they won't let it be added to any region because of that (like that was true for the rest of the game but oh well). If I recall, EU has some reskin version of the maid uniforms that make it look like Alice one, but not the actual Alice dress too

They rewarded this from the BAM Killer event a few years back, and I think a few incidental times since, but I think it would make more sense to add it as an event prize than to add it to fashion coupons. If you were going to have it on fashion coupons, it'd have to be a very high amount, I think.

And yeah, Alice is a totally different issue that has nothing to do with fashion coupons, really.
nothing huge but " Drunkard's overcoat" is in the leather list twice, the only difference is that the first one in the list can be worn by all leather classes, the second one is for warrior, arch, slayer only
On the topic of making exclusive items available to everyone after a period of time...

I'm a little sad now. There was an amazingly-worded post I recall from the old forums, but it seems they're now dead. So I can't find it to link to. Time marches on, I suppose... Either way, the gist of it was this (apologies to whoever I'm paraphrasing from, as I really can't remember enough of it). People were whining about something being made easier - probably a drop rate increase for a VM mat or whatever - and how all their hard work was now indistinguishable from the unwashed masses. That it "hurt" to see something they put so much effort into suddenly be easily achievable by others.

Someone - a pretty old player, if I recall - responded and said... that no, it didn't hurt them at all. "You know what hurt? When they made MCHM drop quills 100% of the time. To see something you spent months grinding for suddenly attainable in a few days, easily sellable via sold runs. That hurt." And it didn't stop there - they listed a half dozen or more things that used to be the providence only of the best players, that now everyone and their mother had. Gear. Mounts. Titles and achievements.

And it made them stop and think, they said. Really, really think about it. Why did they like their achievement so much? What did it mean to them, really? Why did other people getting a swing at it upset them so?

The conclusion they came away with was that... it didn't matter. It just didn't. That what they valued wasn't actually the gear, or the mount, or the pet - they valued the memory and the experience. That achievement meant something to them, as an individual - more than the gold worth of it. They knew that they earned it; it was a point of personal pride. And conversely, it meant nothing other than a shallow aesthetic perk to the new player who got it easier.

So, why shouldn't a new player be allowed to wear some novelty trinket that used to be exclusive? Maybe it looks cool and the coloring goes well with the costume they like. Life goes on. Sure, you had it first, maybe for years. Let the new people have some of that fun, too. Skilled and experienced players stand out, even without some trinket to "prove" it. Just a single trip through solo-queue IMS should make that abundantly clear.

...I've built up quite a bit of junk over the years. I'm a pack rat, so sue me. I'm sure if I went through my bank I'd find quite a few things that simply can't be achieved or acquired anymore. And I couldn't care less if anyone else had those as well. Why should I? They're not me.

I don't carry around my old VM1 scepter to show it off or to taunt people. I carry it around because it's an important memory, a point of pride. It represents a time when me and several guildies decided to do something difficult. And failed, over, and over, and over again. The excitement over voice chat as we finally managed to hit her time limit instead of wiping to her attacks (shaddup that was a heck of a milestone at first). The slow progress, each day managing to get further before losing. The absolute horror of losing when her HP literally read 0%, with only a single DPS alive frantically trying to kill her before dying. And the unadulterated joy of finally beating her. That is what my old scepter means to me. A symbol of my progress and my friends. The entire rest of the server having the same thing doesn't diminish my love of it in the slightest.

And it's not just a gear thing. I have a large number of costumes. Too many, perhaps. I like some better than others. There tends to be a common theme, though. Ones I thought "oh nifty let me buy" I wear a while and then bank as I get a different urge. The ones I keep coming back to, the ones I truly like... tend to be ones that were gotten for me as a gift from close friends, or ones I had to do something special to win. Because they're more than just a costume, they're a memory. Heck, I still pull out my unicorn mount sometimes - it looks funny and it's strictly inferior to my other mounts, but I'll be damned if it's not perhaps my most prized possession in all of Tera, because of how I got it.

...If giving an item a different name or description lets you rationalize things and sleep better at night, so be it. Whatever floats your boat. But if you feel upset at the thought of "other people" getting an easier swing at something you already got, and want to stop them from doing so... perhaps you, too, need to sit down and reconsider what exactly it is that you're trying so hard to hang on to. Perhaps you, too, will see things in a different light.

how can you attach sentimental memories and feefees to alliance masks those things were [filtered] easy to get, especially near the tailend of alliance's lifespan. i have a handful of them myself, of different ranks, and i can tell you, compared to my mayhem set for example, the feelings i have toward it don't go beyond "haha alliance was cool miss those days"

they weren't hard to get. not a huge achievement. not meaningful whatsoever-- just admit you want to not share them because it makes you feel 'special' despite doing something that wasn't special at all. let go of your weak egos my dudes.

So far I like some of what was added and hope they eventually fill in the store with the other in-game weapon skins and armor skins that are inaccessible (like the avatar weapon skins and some outfits that we still can't get, like the valkyrie's starting armor look.)

I remember people un my alliance complaining bout how we had all the echelon spots covered and almost none of the showed up on conflict day, and then when you asked those echelons why did they bother getting the rank, they answered they just wanted the mask and the mount. Give away the masks.

I'm just going to say it. Some of you talk of how easy it supposedly was to obtain an Alliance mask, or about how "My friend said that his friend said [insert story here] happened and [insert person here] said [insert convenient argument-supporting conversation piece here], so we should all have Alliance masks." My personal impression is that a lot of you didn't make the cut back then. Maybe you never got a mask and you're still jaded about it. Perhaps you finally did get a mask toward the end of the Alliance lifespan, but then they were almost meaningless and your bitterness at not being able to obtain one when they mattered drives you to do what you're doing now. Regardless, I'm willing to compromise. I'll support making them freely available if you can find 30 separate players who have obtained a mask and have them do the same. Preferably in a separate thread, supported by screenshots, and hopefully in collaboration with our community managers so they can verify everything.

Getting alliance mask was not an easy task. (Inserts laugh meme)
Explain to me then how in tr, a person monopolized all 3 alliances, feeded his/her way to watch and started to charge gold to everyone who wanted the mask, bribed people that got too close to exarch spot in order for them to drop and let one of his friends have the mask, taking away the chance of anyone not in his/her circle, to obtain said mask.

"didn't make the cut"

what cut, dude. they were easy to get, not sure what about that you don't understand. maybe if you had any meaningful experience you'd get it? if the hardest challenge you've ever faced playing tera was getting an alliance mask then...... wyd

know what also needs to be released? that ugly sirjuka helmet. that thing was also [filtered] easy to get, was 99% RNG. no merit in that. (bring the dungeon back though that was fun)

everything that had actual merit, smolder, kelsaik mask, etc. have already been messed with, unfortunately. so really the only thing of actual merit is the gear you earned back in the day, no one can take that from you. (+memories)

just admit that other peoples' envy makes you feel special because other than that shallow feeling you're just another forgettable nobody. no one has to prove anything to you random dude ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
cut or no cut...earned or didn't earn....it doesn't matter . alliance has been removed. the only people that its going to matter to about what you did in the game is maybe some of the older players, and even then it doesn't matter. content has been removed. I mean I guess people can brag to their bf or gf about earning this that or the other. I actually like the idea of bringing out a similar mask with a different name, so that those that did obtain an alliance mask can have their bragging rights. I just hate to see all this fighting in forums over little things and then people getting banned, butthurt, or the thread closed. I think a similar mask with a different name would be a nice compromise.
so play nice.
We are getting the masks as new gear slot in a upcoming patch, both the echelon and exarch mask models, so look forward to that.
I feel like people are forgetting that Tera has multiple servers. And, you know, perhaps something hotly contested on one server might be dead on another. So perhaps if you're referencing the echelon mask, you may want to note what server you were on - calling BS on the someone on a different server is kinda silly, as you probably never saw first-hand the environment there.

On CH, it wasn't that hotly contested. Commander spots, sure, and definitely exarch... but not simple echelons. I used to do the daily alliance gathering quests every day, and never failed to get an echelon tier from them alone (no PvP contribution, I don't like PvP at all). Not for the mask, mind you - I personally think it looks hideous - but for the weekly 290 speed mount. If I'm gonna summon for a raid doing Nexus, then I may as well get to nodes faster than the people around me.

Heck, later on in the lifecycle of alliance, we actually had the reverse problem - people who wanted to get all the achievements were complaining that it was literally impossible to get one of the lower-tier alliance rankings (and its accompanying achievement). There were so few people doing alliance content that simply getting high enough to earn a tier instantly put you halfway up the ladder. It was kinda amusing.

Though honestly, what's most amusing is some of the suggestions here for this little mask. Really? 931 people (1 initiator, 30 direct friends, 30x30 friends-of-friends, unless I'm reading it wrong) jumping through hoops of red tape and submitting photographic evidence to EME? Should they have it notarized as well, perhaps demonstrate it before a grand jury? Perhaps we can pick random screenshots and declare them as "shopped", maybe if this keeps getting delayed people will forget about it, huh? Alternatively, are there even 931 people playing Tera who still play, already have the mask, and care about this topic at all?

...Rereading, actually, some clarification. Are we talking about the basic echelon mask that every echelon got? Or the exarch mask that only exarchs got? (I forget if commanders got different masks as well.) That makes quite a bit of difference, you know. One was given to hundreds every week at next-to-zero effort, while the other (depending on server) might have been very contested.

(Though personally, if some people were bribing and rigging the rankings to try and prevent people from getting exarch masks... I'd fully support making them freely available now. Just out of spite. Same deal with Smoulder, enough people cheated or bought their way into getting it, that it's not much of a "status symbol" any more in my eyes. But hey, you know what they say opinions are like...)

Overlooking the fact that you've just reaffirmed the fact you haven't even bothered to read what you're responding to, I can only imagine how insecure you'd have to be to post a response like this. You're portraying inadequacies, likely yours, onto me in response to something that doesn't exist.

I think they're cool, but I'm also aware that people had to do something I didn't bother to do to get them. If you own "a handful" of them, why don't you show us? If they were "easy to get", and don't hold any value, then I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding 29 other people who own them and are willing to say the same.

I was going to suggest this in my previous post, but it slipped my mind. I'm all for creating a comparable copy of the Alliance masks if we can find a set number of people who own the original ones to get on board with the idea. As for fighting over "little things", I think it's more than that. I think the discussion of exclusive items is important because we're talking about items people had to put some degree of effort into obtaining. Sure, sometimes there are occasions where someone didn't do anything particularly impressive to end up with this rare item, but I still hold that this isn't a fair generalization in every case and it's not fair to essentially give the finger to someone who did legitimately earn it.

Also, if people get banned, butthurt, or result in this thread closed, that's on them. Nobody made them do these things.

why would i read your previous comments... i do not care that much, my dude. but i am sorry that i assumed that you have an alliance mask i just thought it'd make sense that to have an opinion on this (especially one with as much clout as yours, demanding screenshot evidence of multiple people and such) that you'd, you know, have a mask or at least were around for alliance? you might want to, as the kids say these days, stay in your lane.

@pltnmvenus there were three different levels of alliance mask: basic echelon, one for commanders and the exarch. the commander ones look like this, same base as echelon but with golden wings (screenshot taken by me, of my own character, wow!!!)
9s2clxB.jpg

anyway since it looks like ktera is getting a rehash of the commander masks we'll get it eventually, so this conversation is irrelevant. very little in tera stays exclusive forever, if you've played for more than a few months you'd know this by now. if you want a topic of exclusivity that legitimately depressed me let's talk about when the shandra maniac title got nerfed to the ground, now THAT was a sad day.

I had to go back because apparently I had missed this:

I'm curious as to where you got this number. It had not appeared anywhere else in this thread until now. Also, the way this is worded is incredibly obnoxious and another reason why veteran players are so reluctant to let things go to people like you. If you consider taking a screenshot to be "jumping through hoops of red tape", then I can only imagine how difficult regular gameplay must be for you. This would certainly explain why you want items that required earning to now be handed out. You were likely unable to obtain them yourself. A simple screenshot, with name included and the item either on or in the inventory (obviously showing), would be enough to indicate that the player had actually obtained the item and their support of making the item freely available merited recognition. The collaboration with community managers was to ensure that each of these was a separate player and not one person using alternate characters. 30 separate players, not 931.

I'd prefer fabricated stories weren't brought to this discussion as a means to support an argument.

You keep calling that a fabricated story as if you could be sure of it being false but it actually isn't fabricated at all. That actually did happen on TR for roughly the last 1-2 years the Alliance content was around, till it got then removed a while after the Ninja class got released.

It undeniably happened on Tempest Reach (TR) and while it wasn't as simple as a single person doing it, it was that persons guild(s). That player was the GM of Radioactive (the main guild) who had 2 alt guilds each in one of the other 2 respective alliances (for quite a while radio was in the EU ally while the other 2 were in IO and FTC but sometimes they switched it up).

The "3" guilds were used to spam alliance quests and farm kills between their own alts in each alliance (this kill farming with alts btw was initially forbidden and bannable but after previous alliance years EME didn't care any longer to go through the hassle of banning people for this unfair practice) as well as sometimes random people passing by.

They did this in order to earn contribution points on characters in every single alliance and secure the top and most crucial spots in each of them so they could manipulate the entire alliance content and almost always predetermine alliance conflicts happening once a week on Sundays.
Most of the time they managed to get exarch (rank 1, exarch mask), assault commander (rank 2-5), defense commander (rank 6-10) and a bunch of adjunct commander (rank 11-20) (all commanders got the same leadership mask (black one with wings)) positions in all of the 3 alliances (or at the very least a sizable number of them).

Now the reason they did all this is obvious to anyone that has ever actually participated in alliance conflicts, gold. It wasn't even about the masks or their "exclusivity" (which anyone during the last 2 years of alliance content would have laughed at you for mentioning, not to even speak of arguing it lol). It was a massive amount of gold each week for the guild from alliance conflicts alone.

A 1st place Exarch alone got around 75k gold, an assault commander around 30k gold, defense commanders 25k gold, adjunct commanders 20k gold. At the same time all you had to do to get that gold parceled to you at the end of the conflict, was to only log into an alt and have it enter the conflict area for a while (iirc a couple minutes) then you could log off again and go back to your main to finish the conflict. That means a single person could get a pretty good sum out of it by logging several high position alts in all 3 alliances (even 2nd and 3rd place alliances got decent amounts for commander and exarch positions from conflicts).

That also meant that the alliances with those alts in commander positions that logged out again during conflict to go back to their mains in another alliance, were left without a number of commanders, killing the chances of the few people part of them that actually wanted to legitimately participate and win (seems unfair eh? EME didn't care and people got used to it).

Now ON TOP of all that these people were of course also selling exarch spots to people simply wanting the mask because of its looks and extremely limited options for items to even just fill the face slot on the gear page, like Zoknahal pointed out to you already. These weren't cheap either but you can hardly call buying the masks in this way an achievement worth giving it the "exclusive item" treatment you are trying to promote here. Neither was manipulating the alliance content and abusing kill farming on their own alts (which was bannable but not enforced by EME) a proud achievement that would be an argument for the exclusivity of the masks.

In the end this practice even killed most of the fun and joy people had in the earlier years of alliance content and made the whole thing, as well as the masks, a joke by itself. The reason people still want the masks is simply because there's still a sever lack of face slot items for the gear/profile page and them looking pretty decent in combination with some costumes or color themes.

Also don't kid yourself there's already been quite some time since CUV replaced Alliance content and by now people have created new alts which are now obviously locked out from acquiring said masks (for now) even if it would be very fitting with their costumes, not to mention BHS even released Valkyries which are the only class locked out from them in general. It has nothing to do with "not being able to get them" at the time alliance was still here or it being hard or "exclusive" to good players LOL.

Another thing literally EVERYONE in this entire thread forgot to mention is that alliance masks always were awarded together with an alliance title in the weekly rankings parcel, there was no way whatsoever to get a mask without the corresponding title (exarch, assault comm, defense comm, adjunct comm, echelon1/2/3/(4)). That means even if they released the exact same Mask item into the Fashion Coupon shop people could still claim their feeble and in most cases ridiculous "prestige" by using and showing their alliance title along with their mask (something fashion coupon mask users couldn't do).

Of course the situation of the last years of the alliance content could've been different on other servers besides Tempest Reach but from what I gathered over the years alliance was in a very sorry state no matter the server, the degree of which just varied by a bit. It wasn't hard at all to get at the very least a commander mask (rank 2-20), extremely easy for anyone to get an echelon mask (rank 21-120) and even when it comes to the exarch masks, if there weren't people like radioactive on your server, then a dead alliance equaled a relatively easy to get exarch mask. You just had to put in a mere weeks effort of doing all the quests + bam/monster kill points farming (quests+bams = around 30min-1hr per day) + occasional player kill points from random people passing by (or being dirty and farming kill points on your own alts through multiclienting) OR just buying the damn mask by having the top people let you get exarch for gold.

This is quite a wall of text, lets see if you'll bother reading it properly.

The whole point of argument started to become moot when someone comes up with the classic "you're jealous cause you don't have" strategy and calling anything others say as fiction meanwhile providing no proof as well. "what you say is crap. Cause I said it's crap".

Why not just... call it directly a replica then? Put some well thought text on description saying about "the heroes of alliance fought over [...] now the mask of those heroes has been made into a memento of bygone ages" or whatever?

Sounds very whiny to me that people cannot wear something that just looks similar to the mask because muh special mask.
Also sounds kinda like that topic of the guy who didn't like seeing players getting discounts on store and costumes on events because his own weren't "special" anymore. Alliance is long gone, even I participated in that even tho I knew very well I was crap, still could get some kills, crap people got the mask as well. Sorry get over the "special" thing about the item itself, and just hold onto your own memory of the special achievement/days. If you wanna blame anyone for making the sooo special mask no more than decoration, blame the playerbase.
TERA PC - General Discussion#97 Equitas03/02/2018, 03:46 PM
I don't think the point is moot. Not because of that, at least. I believe the reason behind something matters as much as the something itself. I only mentioned these masks as a side note, an example. These people made the discussion almost exclusively about the masks. The tone, to me, suggested yet another case of the "have nots" attempting to spite the "haves". I guess the point ultimately is moot, though, considering they're adding these masks back in functional form. This seems like a fair enough compromise in itself. They're available again, but they have to be earned.

We all know that FML priest and to be honest i am glad that the alliance ended because for years all that he did was to harass guilds and/or players that wanted to get involved with the alliance going as far to even convince guild leaders that it was for the better of the guild to kick certain players or else war would unleash and even going as far to send tickets to support to try to ban players with forged evidence because all that he wanted was to have an entire monopoly on the alliance system ( i actually left TR for MT exactly because of this same person ).

And you are silly if you did not know or ask around at the time because he did not feed or anything. All that he did was to level up a new character from scratch to level 65 after joining any of the desired alliance because leveling up was stupidly giving almost 1.5k extra alliance points for that.. Then he was using high level characters to do quests for that low level while hurrying to get that new character to level 65 to unlock all the alliance quests.. And in this way he could easily seize any of the exarch positions because the PvP was dead and nobody could get almost 1.5k extra points even through feeding. Anyway, if you did not know or ask about this then this is how it is ... but it was actually super easy.

Still .. that player had a monopoly on the alliance system but then how anything will improve if there will be another monopoly on the alliance masks?

You can clearly see who provequed who first and if you look at his forum history you can see that is something he do frequently for a long time.

On topic, I am one who likes exclusive things stay exclusive but when a company start to make some exclusive things avaliable for everyone then people should not be impresed if they make everything (except Hello Kitty because copyrights) avaliable for everyone in the future.

There are games like LoL where you were tricked to "buy now or lose this oportunity forever" on some skins, only to be re-released again by Riot for everyone again. That is what you call scam.

Perhaps I'm reading this wrong, then:
Equitas wrote: »
I'll support making them freely available if you can find 30 separate players who have obtained a mask and have them do the same.

What this means to me is the following:

* "You"
- The reader, 1 person
* "can find 30 separate players [...]"
- 30 people who are not the original reader
* "and have them do the same"
- Each of those secondary people (30) finds 30 additional people, without overlap

1 + 30 + 30x30 = 31 + 900 = 931.

Could you clarify what you meant, if this was not it? If all you meant was "find 30 unique people who have the mask", then it was... kind of an awkward way to state it. Granted, I was reading it late at night.

I'll skip most of the rest of that paragraph; I was being kinda passive-aggressive anyway, because (as you seem to agree) 931 is a silly number, and pointing out that silliness is fun. But either way, you seem to be making an awful lot of assumptions. Like that everyone who disagrees with you is clearly lying or "fabricating stories" (yet we should clearly take your words at face value, of course). Or, for that matter:
Equitas wrote: »

I related my own experiences with alliance content (as well as with MCHM), which should peg me as an "old enough" player to speak in this discussion. That really should be the end of it, as far as credentials go; as none of us are EME employees, we're really just here to talk anyway. Why, then, am I (and others) not seemingly included in the "veteran players" group? Am I "fabricating stories" and lying about things, too?

Maybe I should post a screenshot of me on my Glimmerheart. I wonder how many people nowadays even remember that gaudy monstrosity, or the conflict surrounding it... And yes, for what it's worth - I'd be perfectly okay with that being placed in the EME store. If someone wants to look that hideous, and pay money to do so, let them. It will mean something very different to them than it will to me... and as I said in my first post, my memories are not diminished by someone else acquiring it.

I have that yellow wolf that i never used on my account as well and i do remember about the 1% forum threads if you know what i mean ^_^

Anyway, i took some screenshots with three of my characters that got involved with alliance when PvP was actually crazy as in 20v20 or 30v30 almost every night ( i even remember those 2hrs conflicts from many years ago ). And i have three alliance masks on three different characters plus a ghost knight helm mask from when sirjuka gallery was around.

Now, i do not need any of these masks because i am playing a different new character with different new cosmetics that i like much more nowadays.. but still i think that whoever wanted and misssed these masks at the time should be given some options to get them ( the new KR addition is still far away if i am not wrong since it will come around on NA in around three more or more.. ).

@Equitas You think im fabricating stories here??? How long have you been playing? were you in Tempest Reach when all of this happened? Ill let you read this then:
K1SBbeh.jpg

For the sake of not doing a callout, ill let you browse the TERA forum archive on your own and inform yourself before accusing me of fabricating a story here.

As for the rest, lets drop the topic on the Alliance mask, and return this thread to the primary topic: helping cobaltdragon with Ids of the skins we want to see in the Fashion Coupon Shop. I think we already expressed that a vast majority of the players want the alliance masks back in the game, but with different descriptions, name, color, etc so that the ones who obtained it during alliance, do not feel affected.
I wanted to drop a list of some Twin Swords that I'd like to see, format with Item ID followed by the item's name. I tried to get a good spread from level 5 to level 58ish.

10537: Sorrow and Pain
10601: Sliver and Slice
10569: Watch and Weep
91017: Rain and Shiner
10697: Resolute and Reliance
10297: Reign and Snow
12281: Do and Die
11473: Law and Order
10161: Still and Silent
10233: Thunder and Lightning
12361: Kicking and Screaming
11513: Valiant and Defiant
11537: Claw and Fang
91081: Counter and Attack
12425: Melody and Harmony
11345: Attuned Heart and Soul
12785: Cumulus and Nimbus (My personal favorite)
12793: Verdict and Appeal
12233: Brigadier's Twin Swords of Victory

Hopefully some of these can make the cut (no pun intended)!

There is a pretty massive list compiled. It will take some time to review though, to see what can be added in through Phase 2, or will require requests be made in order to get them.

Do you think it would be possible to add the Thetan Willsuit (gunner) since you added the Valkyrie launch exclusive costume? That would be great. Thx.

@CobaltDragon would it be possible to re add the original valkyrie "black label curaiss" design? the same costume was changed to a different appearance like a few weeks into the valkyrie's release. Someone mentioned the ghost knight helm. While I am not against it making it's way into the game again, (I'm one of those players who farmed sirjuka gallery everyday for a chance at the helm, I did worked hard for it, but it is time for it to be back) I would suggest that it should be an event reward like the flying carpet mount. You could buy a temporary version from the coupons, and then fuse it with another temporary version given during the summer festival, to obtain the permanent version. Just an idea.

Either way I would love it, as well as the blue fiery halo.

This is the only ID I could find with a translated name, the rest of the IDs aren't named yet however I could post them if this one doesn't work or is temp.

Both temp and perm blue fiery halo are in the game files.

Yes as I mentioned the IDs are there just not translated or given a description to differ between temp and perm, which is why I provided the only one with any name/description at all.

@CobaltDragon

Please add the weapon skins for Black Powerpulse Fists and Red Powerpulse Fists back to the fashion coupon shop. They disappeared from the list sometime after the Federation Bill update.

These weapon skins would also be some nice additions:

Crafted Levlow Powerfists
ID: 82419

Crafted Frigh Powerfists
ID: 82406

Crafted Punshal Powerfists
ID: 82410

Crafted Thunderstroke Powerfists
ID: 82411

Additionally, during character creation, the second, fourth and sixth preset outfit options for female brawler would be welcome additions. I am not sure what their names would be, since I don't remember seeing those skins used on any of the leveling gear or any of the current end game armor.

When you use armor with the same looks in the game, they remap to a brawler-specific look instead. So there probably actually isn't anything like that in the game right now that avoids the remapping, unless BHS makes it. (For whatever reason, though, the creation screen doesn't do this remapping, which is completely confusing.)

Elleon's Blood Cape - ID: 178857
Elleon's Fog Cape - ID: 178851
Elleon's Cloud Cape - ID: 178863
Elleon's Twilight Cape - ID: 178860
Elleon's Shadow Cape - ID: 178854

Not sure if these have been mentioned here, or if there's even a difference between them and the normal capes you can get from the EMP store. For some reason I remember Elleon's Blood Cape being a different item than the Veteran's Cape tho. It was a reward for a random velika outskirts BAM spawn event ages ago.

These capes, at least their icons, look exactly the same as the capes we currently have. The Blood Cape is the Veteran's Cape, the Fog Cape is the Officer's Cape, the Cloud Cape is the General's Cape, the Twilight Cape is the Captain's Cape, and the Shadow Cape is the Commander's Cape. Are you sure these are not the EU versions of our capes?

By the way, it seems the noctenite powerfists skin was removed from the fashion coupon store, at the same time it's among the possible skins in the brawler's weapon skin loot box, that's a pretty sh*tty move, EME.

Not exactly, the noctenite fists look like the actual frostmetal brawler weapon, in any case, according to the FAQ about the "brawler speed bag", the noctenite powerfists are one of the possible rewards from that loot box; also, the red and black powerpulse fists for brawlers are missing too but are available from the $$$ loot box.

Hmm so where do we get the banker and broker summons now, just a chance drop from ghilileglade? Also the apothecary dye cost change was just gross, consider that is 100 BAMs killed if they had a guaranteed drop rate, which they do not.
NPC summons have been removed. This is a huge QoL loss and wipes away a lot of the good will you earned from the previous change. Please address.

110% agree. Apothecary dye is already free for all players, there is no need to make it 1000 coupons, that is outrageous.
It's part of a change coming at a later time, so they will not be returning to the FC Store.
TERA PC - General Discussion#145 Christin03/14/2018, 12:10 AM
How come EME is so mean? You already made the apoth dye untradable, so why you gotta make it 1k fashion coupons? You know how long it takes to make that many coupons? Every time I try to defend you guys, you do something mean like that. It's fun to use the dye, and we aren't making any money on it, so why you gotta make it so expensive? The only reason I figure is to make people happy that are selling it on the broker or to justify having it in the elite box. Either way, that was really mean.
TERA PC - General Discussion#146 Noobsloth03/14/2018, 12:56 AM
It's part of a change coming at a later time, so they will not be returning to the FC Store.

Why not keep them in the store until that time? Like you have said before, it doesn't take a server restart to adjust shops like the FC.
TERA PC - General Discussion#147 Pages03/14/2018, 12:59 AM
It's part of a change coming at a later time, so they will not be returning to the FC Store.

Could we get elaboration on the Apothecary Dye change? They are already untradable, but now they are x10 as expensive. Could we either:
A. Get the price lowered back to 100.
or
B. Make them tradable again.

They're a purely cosmetic item, but players are now heavily gated out of them.
It's part of a change coming at a later time, so they will not be returning to the FC Store.

"Later time" It takes literal months to get any store update, you guys couldn't even provide the entire FC Store update at the announced time and just skated by with a Phase process, why remove the NPC scrolls now and give no information aside from it's coming soonTM?

Amazing job, totes, but it's as to be expected.

Unbelievable ...

When i first saw this thread, i was thinking "Omg did they just only started working on this FC like right now...? WHat happened to "We were working hard on the FC store way way back..." - so the deadline on the roadmap was just a starting time...?". But then i realised it wasnt fair for you all if i thought so and i kind of regretted for thinking that way. So i went to Teradatabase and tried to help as much as i could with the ID's because i figured i should then i waited. And i waited. Iv always been waiting and checking this thread daily... And this is what i get. *Dreams and hopes shatter*

Closing this thread now as the changes we wanted to make are complete. We will open up the conversation for further updates to the store when we time permits us to continue working on it. Please watch future patch notes for any additions/removals/changes that may occur.
