1. Sheep. Because sheep.
2. I found him on the ground, thus he became mine. Because sheep.

Epic. This is like Hemingway's shortest story epic. Because sheep.

@Halrath- If the forums aren't rated M then why do they require you to enter your birth date before going on the site?

I opened up google chrome, entered a birthdate that would make me less then 18 years of age, and it said: "This content is not available to you at this time"

Why are mods so misinformed?

We're not misinformed. We're the arbiters and our decisions aren't up for debate.
Segar on 04/06/2013, 08:14 PM - view

Hi Welcome to Tera,

Heres a few things you should know about Who does what here.

K-Tera = Main dev team. (This is where all the content and stuff comes from.)
They make it in korea, Test it, Translate it for every other version of Tera.
Such as NA, EU, Jap etc.

After they're done, the will ship it out to the other locals that I listed above this.

EME = Localzation for Tera online.
These fine folks depend on if and when BHS (k-tera devs) will finish working on the
build for the NA version of Tera. When it gets here they get started on doing a final check
on it all before bringing it to testing, then Quailty control, then to you and me.

I'm sorry you dont like how NA is abit behind on patches, but like I said. BHS is the one
who makes it decides WHEN to ship it out. So sit down, Login, and enjoy tera.
Because when it comes. baby it comes in jo face. ;3

P.S yes, they read the forums just like very one else.

Segar did an EXCELLENT job of nutshelling the process of how a bill becomes a law in TERA's NA market. I'll elaborate a bit further...

First, we have to actually get the build from Korea. Then the Ops team gets it onto a server so we can actually see it. At that point, we can take a look at the files and see that what we got equals what we expected to see. This part alone takes time.

Then the writing team goes to work. They've got to look at every single item, creature, NPC, quest, dialog, and cutscene. They'll have to rename new creatures and items, verify that changed creatures and items work as intended, and that the quests and events flow the way we want. This takes more time. All of THAT work then gets edited, may get revised, rechecked, etc. More time.

THEN our hard-working QA team gets it all. They go through everything to verify that it works, that there are no bugs, that killing a level 3 terron doesn't accidentally drop T14 gear, etc. Any bugs found get kicked back for fixing, editing, and reintegration and testing. MOAR TIME.

After all of that, it goes back to Ops who verify the final build, pray nothing new comes in at the last minute, and deploy it.

And that's just work on new builds. Each of those teams works with the live builds and services, too.

In short, it's not a question of "Get files from BHS, drop into server, reboot." There's a lot of things that have to line up and any number of factors can halt or reset that process. It takes time, and we appreciate that waiting isn't fun, but I hope understanding more of the process explains why.
The question was asked, and answered, and the topic has since devolved.

This guide from our support section should help you out.
Tempest Reach...aw, darn.

I don't get to be a hero.
Sounds like a good adjustment. I'll move this to the Suggestions forum.
No, if you're trying to transfer from CH and having issues, it's more likely a specific condition, such as not meeting the level requirements, having an item on the broker, mail, etc.

This guide from our support section goes into more detail.

Before I lock this down, I will simply state that neither EME nor TERA have anything against homosexuals. There are gay characters in the game. You can tell from their stories, not from their appearance.

Okay. This is done.

Try this, Miranda.

Objective rules:

In game - You can speak whatever language you want

In forum - You can only speak english (Unless you're posting in the "Languages" section)

^ These are the rules. In-game languages are flexible, though it's understandable that people get frustrated with communications issues. The forum rules really aren't. It's English, unless you're in the Languages forum.
Those are new servers, and we wanted to give the players time to get leveled, gear up a bit before dumping them in the deep end of the pvp pool. Knoxxer has said their time of isolation is drawing to a close, so their status may change from [Single] to [Mangled and It's Complicated] soon.
Okay. This thread isn't about "Maids, Everywhere!" anymore and is about pricing and content, for which there is already a thread, so I'm going to lock this down and redirect the conversation there.
Roda on 04/05/2013, 08:01 AM - view

I don't see the Amani wearing it as a gesture of subservience, but think about the circumstances that would lead to her wearing one. Maybe a femani got injured in battle and can no longer fight or forge weapons. She would stick around the barracks and tidy things up while the capable soldiers do their jobs. This way she would be keeping the risk of infection at bay, and allowing the fighters more time to fight. So she wouldn't bow, like the Elin servants, but would give off a meaningful nod acknowledging her duty. (And she could still wear it as cutely as the Elin!! DX)
(As well as the castanic wearing it cutely. Castanics don't wear things to activate sex mode. They wear things because they like it.)

A well thought-out lore explanation? Outstanding!
Please keep the comments on topic and constructive.
There was a good discussion about this yesterday.
The game is M-rated. The forums are not. Life goes on.
Frosting on 04/05/2013, 09:34 AM - view

Elins are a race that people have the option to choose and play. How does that choice affect the character of the person who plays it? People who want to troll and be jerks will do so, regardless of what race they choose. It's discussions like these, that single out and hate on a portion of the playerbase based on the actions of a few, that tears the community apart and feed the trolls. Please, enough of this.

I think Frosting said it best, and this thread has more than run its course.

To clarify, the most expensive maid bundle is for six items. It's not for one outfit. As for previewing stuff online, that isn't available yet, sorry.
Locking down this duplicate topic.
That thread was locked. The post was edited. Hate posts are wrong. I work as fast as I can.
KDen on 04/05/2013, 10:24 AM - view
Plus a specific quote to what you're replying to will be more effective.

^ This. A thousand times this.
Then you'll get a new atlas, which you can apply to a different character.
Customer support works hard. They blasted through the entire backlog last week and are turning tickets around within the day now. *applauds CS team*

Are you getting the same error message as in the OP's post?
While we have heard of isolated instances of ping issues, we're not seeing anything systemic or consistent. I suggest filing a ticket with CS so we can help troubleshoot it and identify the culprit.
Or people who bought the collector's edition.
Okay. There's a lot of strong feelings about this, but no one is saying anything new now. This thread has run its course, so I'm locking it down. I, and the rest of the EME team take these comments seriously. For now, though, let's move on with our weekend.
Posts intended for dramatic effect are against the TERA forum rules.
If you're done talking about the topic, I'll lock this down. If you're not, get back on-topic.
Race change vouchers let you pick the gender (when applicable) of the race you're changing to.
I've asked for an update on this.

We're not seeing a server or network cause that might explain these, nor are we seeing a large spike in the reports. One of the CS supervisors suggested filing tickets so we can isolate the causal agent and nuke it.
Edited by: Halrath over 1 year ago - Reason: Updated information.
Moved to Suggestions forum.
I spoke to Solomon and WallyPark about this. At this time, 3-D Secure is not supported by our billing provider. I don't have any information on why that is or if it will change.

Naoto on 04/04/2013, 06:29 AM - view
uhm... i do not think EME has any say in that... but I guess they could at least tell the Eastern branch that we are very much interested in such.

EME when you read this no matter how trivial this might seem! we would love this... even if its very minor. Being able to feel a little more unique would be nice

I hear you. I, too, want to be unique like everyone else. :) Consider the word passed.
Edited by: Halrath over 1 year ago - Reason: Added words and letters and stuff.
And there's other threads on this. The maid outfits will be here.
We're short on Marmite, but long on enthusiasm! Welcome aboard!
There's no firm update/timeline right now. That's a major content update and it IS coming, but no specifics.
Are you getting a specific error message? Can you give more details?
You might try this or this to troubleshoot the issue.
Okay...break for lunch. And other topics.

There's no timeline on the unicorns. At some point in the future, you'll get your shot at a sparklecorny.
Ops says we don't see any indicators about why you two can't connect. If those two troubleshooting links, didn't resolve this, you'll need to work with customer service to sort this out.

Oh what the hell, there is a server wide message for opening any of the maid cosmetics from a loot box?

Yeah, that wasn't intended. We'll remove that in next Tuesday's maintenance.
It may take a few moments, but it will appear in your item claim.
Yes. No. Probably.
The support section covers this. Give this guide a try.
We have other topics covering this, so I'm locking this down.
We've already said the pets will come after the maid outfits. That's all we have to say right now.
Sending you a PM on this.
TwilightAngel09 on 04/04/2013, 02:53 PM - view
Well EME even said the spam from the Maid box's are a bug that should be fixed by Tuesday with maint unless enough people complain about it they might do it sooner

It won't be sooner. It will be in with the Tuesday maintenance. And we ARE sorry about the announcements. We didn't mean for them to be implemented.
Rhapsodical, we suggested he try a different browser and CS added that clearing the cache can help with this, too.
Please keep the discussion clean and constructive. Personal attacks will earn you time away from the forums. That is all.
Edited by: Halrath over 1 year ago - Reason: Emphasis.
Locking duplicate topic. Redirect to here.
The new weapons skins are coming, but our content schedule isn't the same as KTERA or the EU. Believe me, I want that scythe in the worst way...
The support site has a guide for this very issue.
Stop flaming people on the forums. That's what private messages and whisper is for.

Bump posts are against the TERA Forum Rules. Please abandon that practice.
Moving this to the Suggestions forum as we lack a WTB section.
Obvious troll is obvious.

Giggles and resurrections were had all around. Good times. And now, the rest of your day. Move along.
Callout threads are against the TERA Forum Rules.
Absosmurfly. The support site has this guide to help.
At the moment, yeah, you need to report them via a ticket. I've requested additional functionality to handle cross-server reporting.
This troubleshooting guide almost always clears up these errors. If you run through ALL of it (no skipping steps) and you're still experiencing this, I'd like to get some more details.
I'll look into this. Maybe shake some branches and see if Treeshark knows what's up.
Our support section has this guide to help you out.

Try following the reset password link on the launcher and changing it. I sometimes have to do this after a new password, type it in one finger at a time, hunt and peck-style, just to make certain I don't fumble-finger it.

After that, you have to contact customer service to help you resolve this.

**If you don't see a "remember username" function, you're looking at an older version of the client. Might want make certain you got it from our repositories.
Edited by: Halrath over 1 year ago - Reason: Updated info.
*waves* Hi, Mystel!
CS does not make such decisions lightly, or without reviewing the facts. You can appeal by contacting them again, but the forums aren't the place to find resolution.
I haven't had the problem, but I'll shake some branches and see if Treeshark knows anything about this.
We are looking into this. Sadly, I don't have any answers I can share with you. :(
No. You can't transfer characters between accounts.
Nope. The action combat is integral to the TERA experience. Some skills do lock-on, but aiming is a critical skill in the game.

Also, welcome to TERA!
Edited by: Halrath over 1 year ago - Reason: typo
I would start with re-downloading the client. I suggest the direct download or the torrent in the link I gave you. Once you're working with the current client, if you're still having login issues, customer support can help resolve those for you.
They'll need to contact customer service.
That's just live chat support. You can submit a ticket at any time.
Note, EMEGeorge really is George at EME, he's just too hipster to have an EME avatar.
For the record, blocking out names so we can't figure out who's the topic alleviates the callout thread issue.

Also, you're welcome to use the actual report button. CS does look into those, and I like the idea of adding some sort of conduct classification. I'll make that suggestion.
Let me check on this. I'm not aware of any systemic issues delaying delivery of the rewards, but we're still caffeinating.
Archaya on 03/28/2013, 09:27 AM - view
I'd say 500k+ or more.

Reason being is that you can easily spend well over 60k just on getting an item enchanted, rerolling stats, etc. Not to mention getting that item.

That's why when I shop, I use the TERA Express Card. Accepted at fine merchants around the Dream.
This is the crappiest thread today. ;)

Sending you a PM Hakaishin.
LOL - The code hunt is over. No more Illuminati-decoding of blue posts.
Ippiki on 03/28/2013, 09:38 AM - view
If you find you can't report a player because they are not on your server you can simply make a character on that server and report them via that character.

My question to GMs is, if that character has not had discourse with the offending player, is the report still taken seriously?

Because I do this often.

We totally take them serious, but I can see where it would be hard for CS to track down the problem if Level 1 Bob.teh.Lancer complains about some guy in ToT or whatnot. I'll also suggest a comments field so players can provide some context to their report.
The game is rated Mature. The forums are rated PG. No panty shots.
This looks fantastic. Way to organize something like this!
July 13th - Barbershop Music Appreciation Day sounds like a GREAT fit for a caiman egg hunt.
A good place for a list/thread of such locations would be the Art & Media forum. I'd love to see what you guys find.
There are other threads on this, so I'm locking this one down.
Edited by: Halrath over 1 year ago - Reason: Fixed typo.
There will be more codes today. And, no, they are not just "5-10" redeems per code. Stay frosty, my friends.
Guykun on 03/27/2013, 09:35 AM - view
Please don't torment us so with 4-word combinations

I wouldn't do that.
There are other threads on this, so I'm locking this down.
While I like the idea, and think its implementation would be good both for the community and role-players in general, I'm saddened by the necromancy involved here because necro threads are bad, mmkay?

Also, people would totally get married in the Velika tavern. It'd be the Las Vegas of TERA!

This code has now been redeemed by the maximum amount of people! Best of luck finding the next one.

Devtracker is an evil thing. Sorry, Fiiver.
As Wallypark posted earlier:

Thanks for your patience!!"

How? When? Where? are we going to know if there is a code or whatsoever? Is it only going to be in this thread?

yea only this thread..

Definitely can appear anywhere. Not just this thread. No codes in any of this post. Save you a trip.
We won't troll you by saying "there are no codes" and then dropping in a code because we're not jerkfaceish.
Edited by: Halrath over 1 year ago - Reason: No codes in this either.
Minea did let people know yesterday. And the codes are still ongoing for today.
