TERA's Black Friday weekend sale had a bit of a hiccup on Saturday and Sunday this past weekend, so to make it up to you, we're offering you another chance at Saturday and Sunday's deals!

Starting December 3 at 10 a.m. PST, and each day thru December 6, you'll have another chance to pick up all that TERA gear you’ve always wanted:
- Thursday, December 3—Up to 75 percent off weapon skins.

The 'Play' button on my launcher has not lit up since the login/crash/launcher issues days ago no matter how many times I close and relaunch. I'm getting the API message now too, but now my launcher is just sitting there doing absolutely nothing. Anyone else with this issue?

Is there a fix for the download constantly going back to 0%? I cant access the test forums yet

The product categories that were featured on Saturday (Costumes and Accessories) and Sunday (Loot Boxes) will be made available again in the near future due to the login/client crash issues we experienced on those days. Stay tuned for more details on that.

The sales from yesterday and today were the best-sellers from throughout the sale. These will not return (with the exception of any costumes, accessories, or loot boxes that were featured, which will once again return when we do the make-up sale days).

Hello all,

I wanted to clarify a few things regarding Buddy Up.

Buddy Up is not being turned off, except for the Brawler Class. It will be turned off until we have Server Firsts for each server, so about a week or so.

The same for Level 60 scrolls. They will be turned off for Brawler only, not for the other classes, and will go back to normal once the Server Firsts hit.

Hopefully, that clears it up.

Just out of curiosity are the people participating told to not disclose information about the test week?

Nope. They can talk about it, but we want to keep the discussion to the Test forum so our team can find any questions/concerns.

What folks find in-game on the Test server isn't final, so what folks are posting might not be the final decisions/coding. This helps to keep misinformation to a minimum.

Ok this is the last straw. I am furious!!!! First I don't get my code so I try to send you guys a email to the email you said and it gets kicked back. So what now? Makes me wonder if I was even added into the raffles. En Masses this is really poor management of a event.

I'm not a Moderator but the Community Manager. The threads were not deleted, they were moved to the Brawler Test forum, which is where all Brawler Test forum threads should go.

If you are in the Brawler Test, and you have access, you should be able to post and read the private Test forum, per my post in this thread.

The Production Team is posting in there, to answer questions, concerns, and issues.

As an aside, threads are rarely deleted. Most are moved to their proper sub-forum.

If you are supposed to have access to the Brawler Test Forums, you should now able able to post. If you think you should have access, read the Brawler Invite for information on how to get added.

Just F5 to refresh your browser and you should see it at the bottom category.

If you don't have access and you submitted an email and password, or a character name versus forum name, I have no idea who you are. :) Please submit again.
I've *just* finished updating permissions and unlocking the Brawler Test forum for those who should have access. You should be able to post about your issues so the team can review them.

Any chance you could extend these? The road hog lootbox is being retired and was removed from sale fairly early since there's not 10x version so I never go to buy them when they were on sale.

The sales from Saturday and Sunday will return at a later date. This includes the Road Hog box.
We'll be looking into things as folks post their errors.

Any word on when the Monday sale's going to end?

The discounts will end at 1 p.m. PST today. I extended it out as the final day deals were a few hours late yesterday.

After 1 p.m. all discounts will end and those products that are retiring will be removed from the store.

Regarding the repeat of the Saturday and Sunday sales, we'll have more details to share soon.

If your codes for items do not work, you can contact Support. They have our master list of codes and emails. Please be sure to give them your Extra Life email, so they can compare it to the spreadsheets.

I received the email to test out brawler. I can't even log onto the launcher they provided and I haven't had to download anything yet. Is something wrong with this?

Nope. It's not scheduled to go live until Dec 1st.
Update from Production:

They've narrowed down the issue, and the emails will all be sending out approximately 5:00 p.m. PST. They'll still go out in waves, as we have six different kinds of emails we're sending. This means, if you qualified for more than one reward, you'll be getting more than one email.

Hang tight; we'll have them all sent out and we'll just need to spend a short time cleaning up outstanding issues tomorrow.

Will the test server be added to the Server Status page?

Nope. It won't have support at all. We're spinning it up just for the event.

Buddy Up codes will not work for the first week of Brawler, so players can get Server Firsts properly. This also holds true for the Level 60 Scroll.

These items will be turned back on per usual after all level 65 Brawler Server Firsts are taken.

So at this point should we email you guys if we haven't received either the mount/pet codes or the preview codes? It sounds like many people already have--but I'm not sure if emailing is a hindrance or a help at this point.

No, please don't email, as there's nothing we can do about it until we hear back from production on the issue. The Community Team doesn't have the tech admin access to the Newsletter email system.

If we can find the issue, it will be super easy to resend the emails. If we can't, that means we'll have to manually email each person individually, which will take a HUGE amount of time.

Seeing as Danicia mentioned that the emails were sent via newsletter email system, I kinda figured why I never get mine. After looking through the profile management, the default setting is having the newsletter unchecked, so by default the newsletter will not be sending out to the registered email of the game account. I might be wrong on this, just a thought

Those are actually the easy ones and is only about 10 people. :) We are going to email those directly.

The greater issue is the 300+ emails sent out which should have reached everyone.
We sent all the emails via the newsletter email system. Many folks received all their items, and some folks didn't receive anything. So, we're trying to track down why. We don't have access to that email system, so we have to wait for production to help us take a look. The priority has been login stability over Extra Life codes. Now that

The Brawler email invites are being sent individually, one at a time by Harmonia herself, as we had to generate a username/password for each person.

We have a stack of emails in our Community email box with folks who haven't received codes. We need to check those against all the other code emails sent.

We're doing everything as fast as we can.

Not at this time, thanks. We're reviewing the email lists versus code redemptions and all kinds of things, so there's not much to do right now.

Once we've worked through the issues, and folks haven't gotten their codes, we'll ask for folks to let us know. For now, just hang tight and we'll sort them out as fast as we can.

As of now, the max amount of character slots per server is 13.

I believe Danicia mentioned we're getting a free char slot with brawler update, and we might end up getting an expansion to the max amount per server as well, but no concrete news on it yet

There have been numerous requests for compensation and concern about missing out on the sales. As soon as the entire team is assembled and we have met on the topic, we'll have an update regarding those questions.

Thanks for everyone's patience. There are a lot of manual steps to generating codes, emailing folks, and getting everything sorted. We're working as fast as we can, and are catching up on the strays (email bounce backs, folks who didn't give us their info, folks who donated anonymously and emailed us their receipts.

Whilst we wish the data from Extra Life was easy to match up to your accounts and such, it isn't. Same with emailing codes, access, and the like.

We'll be reviewing all the outstanding issues (bounce backs, non-receipts, and such) now that we are back from the holiday break (as promised).

The Brawler access emails will be sending out today. Since every test account/password is unique, we have to manually send each of these out. It's a top priority so everyone can get their rewards and access today.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding.
We're going to be restarting some servers at around 11 p.m. PST to apply some changes in an attempt to address the current issues. You'll see in-game announcements leading up to the maintenance.

I was able to login, for the first time in 2 days, after MANY attempts.

Then I changed characters, it was ok. I changed characters one more time, D/C...

For whatever it's worth, I was having this problem really, really bad this morning. But, I also haven't had much issue getting in game either. Not that I'm even playing.

This was fixed this morning around about 11 a.m. PST.

Hey Denommenator, Could EnMasse at least shut down the TERA Store in-game temporarily to see if that resolves the login/client crash issues? If it does, then you will have identified the location of the problem and can leave the store down until the developers can pin down the exact cause and develop a patch for it. Then once the patch is ready, bring the Store back online and just extend the Sales event 1 or 2 days to compensate.
I think this would be a good temporary solution, because at this point your player base cares more about being able to log in and play, than about buying items in the store.

We tried this yesterday for about two hours and unfortunately it didn't help.

How is that possible when there has been over 24 hours downtime for most people?

We haven't been able to specifically identify the cause of the issues. If we knew the source of the issue, we could likely resolve it in short order.

As stated, we've now reached out to the game's developer to investigate further and try to track it down.
No progress to report at this time but we have engaged the game's developers regarding the issue and they're helping us to investigate further.

Last night in one of the threads someone said the crash occurs when client receives store packet. he also stated blocking said packets fixed the issue. ON TOP OF THAT people who can get in report crashing when they open the store.

please consider taking it down temporarily to see if it fixes the issue

We received that report and are investigating it.

We shut down the store yesterday for two hours but it did not resolve the issue, unfortunately.

At this time, it's unclear if the sale is contributing to the login issues players are experiencing. As a safety measure and in an effort to try and alleviate these issues, we have scaled back the sale temporarily by removing stacks of three loot boxes.
We continue to investigate the character login and client crashing issues post-maintenance.

If you are experiencing these issues. Please try the following:

1) Close the game launcher completely.
2) Re-login.
3) Run a repair via the launcher's "Tools" menu.
4) Try to launch the game.

The above has worked for some players but not all.

I'll post any updates regarding this issue in this thread as I receive them.

The TERA servers will go down for maintenance at 9 a.m. PST tomorrow while we attempt to address the login issues some players have been experiencing throughout the day today.

My wife just loaded up her machine and as LastToRise has pointed out she didn't even touch the website or the ingame store at all (mainly because she couldn't log in) but it appears from our household end the store has nothing to do with it.

We use high powered gaming rigs to play so it's nothing from our end.

I'm concerned about the statement that it's not "easy" to extend the sale. I'll cop that on the chin but I'm not in the least appeased by this statement. What is sounds like is "it would take some manpower to accomplish but we don't see a cost benefit". That's not a great PR sales pitch.

As stated by myself the costume I wanted was the Mad Hatter outfit. However the Hat, probably the most important part comes in a loot box with many different outcomes possible. Now if I was in game I would simply keep buying the accessories box until I got the hat, because it's on "sale".

I feel a bit like I have to suck it up, however I can see a simple solution to this issue.

On Monday allow costumes and accessories to be on sale too, along with the other categories highest sellers. That means you don't have to extend the sale and you keep the faith with your customers.

It's a compromise, that I believe most players would see as fair.

I meant more the time it would take to setup. We'd have to do it at some point in the future, perhaps not this weekend.
I just had the issue occur on my home PC. A repair seemed to fix it, though it might have been a coincidence.

someone I know tried going to tools &gt; repair and that worked for him.
Trying that now....

Let us know how it goes. It's weird because it's only affecting some players and some are even seeing it resolved while others are not.

I'm having the same issue as everybody else in this thread- PORTS: FAIL comes up when I run the Diagnostics Tool. DNS isn't an issue, so I know it's not on my side, and I've tried restarting my computer three times, restarted my router and modem, as well as disconnected literally everything else that was sharing a connection with my laptop. I've tried logging in on another computer and it's still not working, either. I've done literally everything that the Error page for my specific Error number talks about, and nothing is working. I've tried logging in over a dozen times in the past hour- was only able to log in for a few minutes this morning on one character while Day 2 sales were still active, and then I had to leave for the day, hoping to get a peeksie at the Day 3 sales when I was able to log back in... Which, at this rate, doesn't appear to be until Tuesday. T_T

Considering quite a few of the costumes aren't going to be available anymore come Tuesday, I'm SERIOUSLY hoping that this problem is either recognized as a problem and is fixed before the Day 4 sales start, OR that the sale for Day 3 is either repeated or lengthened. A vast majority of your paying playerbase can't even log in to participate in your sales today- I was able to log in and buy from Day 1 and 2, but what gives with Day 3 not being an option for a lot of us, and what REALLY gives with EnMasse staff not even acknowledging that there's a problem?! Come on, I was hoping that you as a company was better than this. Please, we only want to support you and spend some dough- hard to do when you break your game. Q uQ

the old underwear boxes I do much like the more delicate look to those undies and id hate to see them go ;/ so imma stock up on as much as the lootboxes allow XD

There was an error in the sale FAQ upon release. Only the stack of 5 of the old inner armor will retire following the sale. The FAQ has been updated to reflect this. That said, all inner armor loot boxes will be discounted during the sale on Sunday. Apologies for the confusion!
Yes, EMP purchases through Steam qualify for the gift with purchase.

You will receive the gift with EMP purchase throughout the entirety of the Black Friday sale (today through Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. PST).

Also, on a somewhat related matter, I seem to recall that a gm use to post a thread on patch days for reporting of all bugs/problems with the patch, and I think this should be made a thing again, so that everyone has /one/ place to go to, and you guys also only have to worry about just one place, instead of scouring and hunting down every post/duplicate posts.

That is a great idea! We can implement that into the plan.

I hope that as we work on better communication internally, it will mean we get better at communicating with y'all. As example, we will start having patch notes out the day before the patch, unless there is some reason. Obviously, we cannot always have them ahead of time for things like emergencies and hotfixes, but w'ell have them as soon as we can get them.

Yes, there is a plan for an update and we've handed off all the feedback. The update is still planned for post-Halloween and we were in error to state it would be in yesterday's patch update.

It was due to poor communication between Community and Production, regarding the timeline. Once everyone is back from the holiday, we will give another update with a possible timeline.

We apologize for our miscommunication with both Production and with the community. The upside for this has led to an internal discussion on the importance of community communication and making sure it's accurate from all sides.

We have chosen all the winners of the raffles! We have all the donation rewards! We're sending out emails for all of these today. Be sure to check the email you used when you donated, the email you sent to the Community mailbox (for anonymous donors).

If you donated anonymous, but put your character/server information in your donation, we have tracked you down and you'll get an email on your EME account email.

Brawler Access information:

For those of you who donated/raised $50 or more, you'll be receiving your Brawler Test Server access emails next week. We'll have the download information and instructions for you at that time.
We're going to start a program like that, where folks can ask questions, the Community Team gets answers, and we answer them on the Livestream. We're answering some of the questions posted here.

My hope is that we can do this every 2 weeks (Community Chat stream) and in my upcoming Community Plan, we could do something like that. Or do a TERA reddit AMA.
