Sorry @Spacecats but fixing reset scroll bugs WITHOUT resettable RM/LK does pretty much NOTHING. I hope you realize that and work in rm/lk resets rather than fixing the old dungeon reset bug

We've got other ideas on getting people reset scrolls for RM/LK. Sorry I can't go into more detail right now because the details might change.
I'm going to quote the comment I just left here because I think it's relevant and there are a lot of threads about the Instance Rest Scrolls issue (which makes communication more difficult).
There are two things going on:
Instance Reset Scrolls were unfortunately broken with the Spellbound update. We're working to have them fixed after Tuesday's maintenance. Sorry it's taking longer than we'd like.
Instance resets won't be available for the new dungeons until some point post-release. This is Bluehole's intention moving forward with new dungeons.

The "working as intended" quote from Denommenator is referring to the scroll's inability to reset Lilith's Keep and Ruinous Manor (at the time I think he was under the impression that other dungeons were resetting properly). It's been the case in kTERA for a while now where brand new dungeons disallow instance resets when they first come out. Bluehole intends for this to be the case across all regions. We weren't aware of this until recently, so we weren't able to give a heads up. The fact that IRSs broke completely just exacerbates the issue.

Come Tuesday, when servers are back up, our goal is to have Instance Reset Scrolls work for every dungeon except the two newest ones.

A lot of the comments in this thread are making the assumption that Instance Reset Scrolls being broken is "intended." They'll be working again shortly.

@Spacecats So if we stream to our twitch at any day its fine?

The best time to stream is during Extra Life weekend. That's when everybody involved with Extra Life is going to give their best effort, so you'll be in good company.

I've merged multiple threads about the Instance Reset Scrolls into this one. Please remember that creating duplicate discussions is against the forum rules. Thanks!

Lol. Was he serious when he said that? Seems kind of backwards to me.....

I would imagine it's a joke... Reset scrolls tend to not work for the first to second week of patches, this isn't new.

I was joking :p

And yes, as Denomennator said in another thread, it's Bluehole's intention for the new dungeons to not have resets until some period of time after their release. We're working with them to get our Instance Reset Scrolls working again on Tuesday (minus LK & RM).
For those of you around for BAM Killer, what did you like most about the event? The tiered merchant rewards? The goal of killing a bunch of BAMs? The promo video? Do you have any specific memories that come to mind?
We're in the process of getting Instance Reset Scrolls working again. Sorry for the wait!

bro, don't listen to these trolls, they want to be the only ones running around with +15s.

Well I don't want to discredit anyone's feedback, Eiiji. If there's a way we can keep event loot enjoyable I want to hear ideas. If people just want to make more gold on the broker, though, that sort of limits what I can change in the future :p

Sky texture is missing in Cultist's Refuge dungeon

That's so many bugs and not even half have been resolved. This patch is just an example, it's been consistently like this for quite awhile now.

We're working to have a solution for Instance Reset Scrolls in place after Tuesday's maintenance. We're aware this isn't the first time this particular item has broken. Instance Reset Scrolls are different our version because we use the scrolls differently than others do. Having them break is a consequence of having scrolls that work on multiple dungeons - it isn't an issue the Production team accounted for with Spellbound because the item uses a variable that doesn't change very often.

As for the list of bugs you quoted, the Bug Report forums were recently recreated in order to maintain a higher level of transparency in how we receive and track bugs. There are engaged TERA players that are interested in helping us make TERA as bug-free as possible, and there have been a lot of helpful threads recently (and help by Player Council members keeping the forums organized) which have grown the list of bugs we're looking into. By comparing TERA today to TERA before there was a forum-maintained list of bugs, of course it will be easy to say "look at all these bugs we didn't have back then!" You're effectively using our own attempt at open communication against us. Granted, that's a risk we're willing to take as a game company, but it's not going to make Instance Reset Scrolls get fixed any faster. The team is already working as quickly as they can.
Are you saying the amount of enchanting materials in Night of the Mandragora was too high, or are you just looking back at TERA Mongo?

Not sure what was communicated on this previously but may the conspiracy (and abuse of Spacecats) rest.

Why cant i reset old instances? The reset scrolls do not work period. For any dungeon.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for that. I'll have the QA team look into it tomorrow and get back to you when I have more information.

Well spacecats did say alot of event's leading up to the Spellbound release, but all we got was the Mandragora event, and that was after the release. So we got false promises again.

October also had a Strongbox event, Double Drop, Harvest Festival Hall, and the Autumn Costume & Screenshot Contest.
I'm not entirely sure if the "Indefatigable" Skill was meant to be removed without providing a replacement Racial Trait Passive Skill.
I went ahead and reported it for review.

You're welcome! We try to keep players like you in mind. It's not always easy to do, especially when En Masse keeps pretty regular Pacific Time office hours and some things in TERA are more flexible than others, but in this case I'm glad it was able to happen.

I'd argue that this doesn't "break TERA," but I agree it's something that should be addressed as soon as possible.
Sorry you guys are feeling ignored on this. I've commented in a couple places that we're working to resolve reset scrolls. I'm afraid you'll have to be a bit more patient while the issue is resolved.

In addition, I've merged multiple threads into this one. One of the reasons responses often go unread is because players will create duplicates of existing issues that have been commented on. This splits the conversation unnecessarily (which is why it's against the forum rules), so please avoid doing it by checking for existing threads on the topic before posting your own discussion.

@Spacecats will the normal and mystery box still work AFTER the event is over on Tuesday ????

Yes, but the tokens will disappear in the near future, as stated in their description. So make sure you spend them.
We looked into this today, sorry for the (lagged) update. TERA servers are unaffected, meaning we're showing no high latency to our ISP and there are no major drops in player count which might indicate people are getting suddenly disconnected. In cases for people playing outside North America it's not easy to predict where a source of lag might be located, but we'll keep investigating tomorrow.
I did see a lot of generous healers running around rezzing people. Even just random bodies they came across.

Glad you enjoyed this event! It was way more work than I realized it would be, haha. Don't worry, that won't stop me from planning more stuff in the future. I'm just hoping the struggle has made me wiser.

One more showing to go! I think it will be a good one ;)

Peanut (in TR at least) has some timing issues. He gave his statement for summoning Meldita after they're all dead and gave his "13th chapter? I hate this book" statement 15 before the event is actually over. Are any of those things intentional?
(granted I didn't get to make the last one at 12-2 but it happened twice yesterday)

There's a little variation between scripts and it may have resulted in some mis-timing on my part. After an hour straight of inputting server announcements it's possible I entered the wrong UTC for those messages. I'll double check the logs tomorrow to make sure it's not a problem for the Oct 31 showings. Thanks for letting me know!

OK, so what the [filtered] happened to the announcements? I only saw the event was on because the little banner above the chat said 'Monster spawn event on', and I had been online for a couple of hours already.

Same for the wave and flavour text that lets us know when Peanut Von McNuttyJob summoned the different bosses, what happened to those?

That was an error in the scheduling. The rest of the event times should have announcements as normal. Sorry for the confusion, and I'm glad you still caught the event!
Why would you schedule a mongo event DURING CU???? Spacecats Hello? What were you thinking. Exclude us pvpers again <3 love you bud

Treeshark is departing. Before he swims away to far off... forests? Spacecats is making him show up on the Twitch stream (finally!) for a little friendly interrogation. Treeshark has seen and participated in a lot of TERA history, and is a big part of the game we all love. If you'd like to help give TERA's long-standing Producer a fond farewell, join us October 28 at 3:00PM PDT for our hour-long stream!

As always there will be some raffles for our chat audience, plus a special code just for tuning in. See you there! https://www.twitch.tv/enmasseentertainment
Edited the top post to reflect an unfortunate cancellation:

EDIT - Unfortunately the Oct 28 showing from 5:00 am to 7:00 am PDT had to be cancelled due to event changes and an office schedule conflict. Go get some sleep!
Hi all,

After the Mandragora event earlier today at 11:00AM, a lot of players gave feedback both in game and here in the forums. First off, thanks for participating and having fun with us! We want to make sure you enjoy this event to its fullest, so some changes will be in effect going forward for the event (beginning 8:00PM PDT Oct 27, the second run of the event on our schedule).

Removed Eldritch Academy Grounds and Island of Dawn. Added Freeholds. (Seeliewood is still there)
This will overall make the event take place over a smaller area, and in less channels. Monsters should be more plentiful, and Freeholds is a good area for those on PvP servers who don't want PKs jumping them in Seeliewood. There were also a couple issues in Eldritch Academy where skeleton archers were shooting people through walls, so this avoids that annoyance.

Mandragora Mystery Box cost reduced to 250 from 280
We want more of you to get these, and felt the price was a little high.

Removed Darkan and Fulminar. Added two new bosses
Darkan was way too hard, and Fulminar was a little baby monster. Sorry Fulminar.

Increased Mandragora Token drops
Again, we want you guys to get more tokens. They should drop more now.

Removed trash mob loot
Trash mobs will still sometimes drop tokens (and more often than before), but when they don't drop a token they will instead drop a mote. Having them drop things like scarabs, crystalbinds, and T8 Feedstock was extremely underwhelming, and this event is all about dem tokens. Nobody wants you, scarab.

Please use this thread for feedback after you've tried the 8:00PM PDT showing of Night of the Mandragora! I'll be curious to see how you like it compared to the first showing.

EDIT - Unfortunately the Oct 28 showing from 5:00 am to 7:00 am PDT had to be cancelled due to event changes and an office schedule conflict. Go get some sleep!

I guess I'll ask this now as well, did you get your name from that NPC, or did you guys just screw around with those NPC's since no one was supposed to actually meet them?

I think one of the writers put this in afterwards since no one is *supposed* to be there anyway.

Good luck on your next adventure, and don't skip any meals.
Moved to bug report forums. Can you guys try to give more information? What dungeons are you running specifically? When exactly did the issue begin? What other buffs/gear are you using that affects your crits? Anything that might be a factor.
Dear TERA Community,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I must let you all know that I will be leaving En Masse on October 28th. In my stead, Matt “Denommenator” Denomme will take over primary TERA duties, with Spacecats and his team helping out a lot more. You may even see a few more familiar faces step up their involvement in the coming weeks as well. I promise that you all will be in great hands, and I’ll be keeping a close eye on everything as well.

I got the opportunity to start at En Masse back in 2010, when we were still doing focus beta tests and the entire team fit (albeit cramped) in a very, very tiny room. We were still in launch mode at the time, and I still remember getting to showcase TERA at E3 and PAX and meeting all the players excited at the new action MMO they were getting to play. Since then I’ve seen this game through its transition to free, and the launch of multiple content updates since then.

You all know all this, because you all have walked along side me all throughout the way. While most of our interactions have purely been either on the forum, or in the game, I’ve also been fortunate to meet some of you and it has all been very special to me. Getting to produce TERA for you guys and gals for the past few years has been a unique experience and one that I will take with me forever.

Lastly, thank you for all the times we’ve shared. I have a lot of memories made here at En Masse, with you all and with TERA that will remain with me forever.

Best Wishes,
Patrick “Treeshark” Sun
There's also no expectation that you'll get people to donate money. If you just want to be a part of the team to help spread the word and join in the fun, that's totally cool.
What are some of the possible rewards? And are they exclusive to people that donate?

I'll be updating the page again in the next couple days, but there will be both. We'll have big items people can donate for, prizes for getting highest donations, and then rewards for all TERA players (like Double Drop weekends) based off the donation milestones our team achieves.
Ketoth wrote: »
So after 23 pages, no reply from EME part about the negative feedback?

I'm collecting a lot of the same feedback from a lot of players. Not just in this thread but in a lot of update and dragon-related threads. Honestly, very few players are giving new ideas or feedback here, and players aren't asking questions about the new system that I can answer, so for the most part there aren't specific comments that require a reply. Saying that, I definitely understand how you guys feel after reading these comments. Your dissatisfaction with the system put in place isn't being ignored, but right now there's no news on this system changing. If there IS some kind of change to the dragon system, I'll make sure you guys see it by creating a new announcement.

Moving this to the bug report forums.
we've seen this bug in QA when we experiment in blanking out the elite bar and using another tool to fill it in manually. this didnt work. whats even odder is that if this were to happen to someone, it would, in theory, happen to either everyone on the server or everyone on all the servers. the fact that is only happening to one server, and a smaller segment on top of that, is really weird.

we've always shared localization with EU. the only differences are our cosmetic stuff and few other things. what you are seeing is a string that is never localized because you're never supposed to see it. VIP is the name way back when, many many years ago, before it was made live.
I'll suggest that the tier be increased. With the new armor sets now in rotation, it makes sense that they provide T10 mats.

Was gonna say the same thing pretty much Ryou. We had signs a year or two ago, they got killed I think in the first day. Now we get them back again and they are insta killed. WTF?! Why bring something back just to kill it right away. Didn't you (EME) learn anything from the last time you did this sign fail?

They weren't intentionally brought back. The merchant contents were changed/reverted as part of the build and, due to lacking QA, they didn't catch it before it went live.

This is correct. They were automatically re-added to the merchant for some reason. Signs weren't supposed to be brought back. They cause a lot of problems with players harassing others, and they make a lot of extra work for our Customer Support team which means everyone else's support issues take longer to get resolved.

Spacecats, i appreciate the info and allow me to ask something of you. You been very communicative with the community, and we all appreciate that. The Half/Quarter Day signs are one of those items in game that are simple, yet have so much impact in game, if you look at it on the bright side. They were actually re introduced soon after they got removed the first time, with a "Better" word filter. Unfortunately, 5 minutes after their re introduction, they were removed once again because some idiots were very creative in writing profanity avoiding the filters. This was very unfair on pretty much everyone who wanted to get them. Because of a minority of people who thought it would be fun to spout profanity and insult other players with those signs, we the majority are punished by not being able to get them.

Its been roughly 2 years and EME still has said absolutely nothing about putting them back into the game. I ask of you to please update your people at EME and tell them we WANT those signs back into the game. If it is too difficult to put them back into the game due to players spamming profanity and other stuff, please, ASK US! THE PLAYERS! We have ideas on how to put items in the game. Asking your playerbase about how to add stuff is definitely worth a try. Please, these items, alongside with the Dragon Fireworks (which got fixed already, yet they are still not in the game) should be available in game ever since 2 years ago. It is not fair that only 1 in 100 players in TERA have those signs just because they logged in first to hoard them before you guys removed them ONCE AGAIN.

I appreciate where you're coming from, Zoknahal. I'll raise the issue again with the En Masse team. If I remember right, one of the primary concerns is Customer Support, and the trolling/spamming/reporting/bickering that occurs due to the use of these signs. I know they're fun (I've played around with them myself and I like them), but it was decided quite some time ago that they're way more trouble than they're worth.

Since today's mishap added them back to player inventories, I'm curious to see how much trouble is caused from their reappearance. Maybe this is a good chance to see players using them for fun and not to annoy others.

We took these down temporarily until they're fixed.

And what is going to be done about those who bought several of those RGN boxes?

Like Counterpoint said, hang on to them for now. There are stamina-related items that will be useless to you if you open them. They'll be replaced with more useful items with our fix.

Is this going to replace the old ones as well? Or could you at least make the sale value something a little more appropriate, rather than just 10s...

It will replace the old boxes, yes. In fact, there aren't any new boxes. The existing ones are just being modified with more useful consumables since the stamina ones now do nothing.

however as a na publisher does eme not have the power to ask for specific changes for their region and receive it? such as the non eq fwc.

We can request it, but this isn't an aspect of TERA that we control, no. It is ultimately Bluehole's choice, as they control the game design decisions, balance, and implementation.

can you request the same thing for solo skyring while you're doing that? :3

Yes!
Some of you guys may have seen the server announcements that just went out. We're bringing dungeons down at 2:00 PM PDT to try and address this latency. They'll only be down for about 10 minutes, but please make sure you're not in a dungeon when they are brought down or you will be booted out, losing your progress.

Can you give a little more info?

Specifically which dungeons are you seeing this happen?
Is it your Internet? Do you notice ping spikes on other games or online activity?
What region are you playing from?
What's your ping normally like?
When did this start happening?
Are others in your group also experiencing the spikes at the same time as you?

no it's your servers

Your post answers like... one of those questions :p

Cool, good to hear :)
They're removed as of about 90 minutes ago.

We're looking into this. It's already been posted here in the forums.
It sounds like your elite bar didn't update properly. To the right of the consumable box, you should see the Everful Nostrum and Ghilliglade Scroll. Since it didn't update, you still see the Talisman Trio and Everful Nostrum.

We have seen issues like this in the past when the elite bar is changed. It should correct itself at 5pm PDT when the elite bar resets.
Closing this since discussion of mods is against the forum rules. One of the reasons we discourage the use of visual mods is because they break the game like this. Every time there's a TERA update, our support crew gets bombarded by tickets from players who broke their game with mods. If you're not able to fix your client, they can help you get your game working again. But please just don't use them to begin with.
Please log out all the way, close your TERA launcher, and then log back in. Your panda should show up then. Please let me know! :)

They'll be released later today, we're working on some stuff surrounding the build deploy right now.
Looking into this.
Removed some comments from this thread, sorry all. Please create a new discussion to report bugs you're experiencing. Issues will be added to this list as they are collected.
Hey all, I've moderated quite a few posts in this thread, including a lot of callouts naming other players, current and past En Masse staff, and a lot of off topic discussion and speculation about past En Masse staff. I also removed some really toxic posts and vulgarity. Please remember to remain polite towards your fellow TERA players and adhere to the forum rules.

As far as the changes to Fraywind Canyon, I'll be forwarding your guys' feedback to the TERA Production team and Bluehole. Many players want the equalized gear reverted. Keep in mind that this isn't an aspect of the game that En Masse can control - it's a developer decision. Hopefully Bluehole will decide to make the changes NA players want.
Patch notes have been updated to include the Kumas' Victor Chest. Thanks all!
I opened 200 Kuma' Victor Boxes and got 2 Lady's Handkerchief.

You can't link Handkerchief in chat tho, violates rules of conduct...

There's a bug report in progress for the chat link.
Have you tried running a repair? You can find it in the "Tools" menu at the very bottom of the launcher.

Also, if you're getting an error, please post which one.
Pretty sure he's saying the cost is much too high. I'm moving this to the Bug Report forums and changing the title to something more descriptive. Please provide more information when pointing out issues like this.
Please submit a support ticket to get your game up and running. As listed in the "Before you post..." thread, a common issue that is NOT a bug is a failure to launch TERA. This is just an issue on your end that our CS crew can help fix: http://support.enmasse.com/tera/tickets/submit
This is a beautiful example of an unhelpful bug report! Please make sure you read the "Before you post, READ THIS!" thread next time, and include a proper title with as many details as possible about the issue you're experiencing.

In addition, please don't come to the bug forums to vent. We're trying to collect information here so TERA bugs are be addressed. This isn't the place for positive or negative game feedback.

Anyone else stuck in the sv select screen?

Did you close your launcher when maintenance happened? If your client isn't fully updated it won't let you log into a server. Try restarting.
Looking into it. Thanks BH.

Not sure what you mean "adjusted," but could you please post a new discussion with more info? This thread is about the delayed server maintenance.
9:52AM - Servers are opening now!
Yeah, I edited my post because my ETA was CANCELLED.

... there are some minor in-game store issues which are causing items to appear improperly. We're working to fix it, but will be bringing the servers back up at 10:00AM regardless of whether this is resolved since we know you guys are anxious to get back in the game.
Hi! This is a mega thread to host a list of bugs surrounding the Spellbound update. For every major TERA update, a new mega thread will be created and the old one will be unstickied. The purpose of this thread is to serve as a reference for both TERA players and for the En Masse QA team, linking to specific reports from players when possible. It will help keep track of the most current bugs. Older, outstanding Known Issues may drop from the list over time in an effort to keep things tidy. Issues like those will remain archived in past mega threads as well as our internal triage database. QA never forgets a bug!

Only En Masse staff and Player Council members can edit this post. If you want to pitch in, please create a new discussion to report any bugs you've discovered. Check out THIS POST for tips on creating excellent, beautiful bug reports.

Known issues surrounding the Spellbound update:

Guilded Age
Known Issues surrounding the Guilded Age update:
  • Dragon Master passive skill reading incorrectly - FIXED 10/4/16 - "A factor of 1.5" is misleading. The skill increases base crit power by 50%. Currently all characters have base crit of 2, so this basically adds 1.
  • Celestial Spirit weapon skin box tooltip needs to add Ninja to list of classes without weapon skin - FIXED 10/4/16
  • Brawler Roundhouse Kick and Rampage cause player knock up in Civil Unrest: Velika
  • Mystic buffs 'Aura of the Swift' and 'Aura of the Merciless' are removed when Mystics mount dragons with the 'Dragon's Reach' ground movement speed increase effect.
  • Players are unable to edit guild titles.
  • Cathodyne and Prismatronic weapon skin effect appears abnormal on Reapers.
  • Passives are not procing for some players. (Draconis Rex, Blacksmith Hammerstrike, Last Mercy, Hurricane)
  • Celestial Arena only has 2 entries for elite. Should be 4.
  • Rally Quest is no longer random and happens only on reset.
  • Guild Member List can show double-entries in certain circumstances.
  • Sky texture is missing in Cultist's Refuge dungeon

Thanks for posting that.
Sorry about that, guys. It was a minor delay, but I realize you guys are anxious to get back in. Servers are being brought back up right now. ETA like... 3 minutes!
I'll see what's going on with this. Thanks guys.
Thanks PaulIsAwesome, I'll move this to the Bug Report forum.

I assume you're referring to French grammar rules (this looks French to me ;) ). Since France isn't a country or language in the world and lore of TERA, it's possible our localization team named it this way on purpose just to make the item unique for the game. In any case, I'll let them know.
