We just had balance changes on Tuesday that upped the damage on Slayer. What Battlegrounds are you getting kicked from?

As far as guilds go, it's hard to imagine how 20v20 guild battles would even go. Who would determine what 20 members of a 100 person guild would participate, and how would they go about choosing them? I understand that competing against larger guilds presents challenges, but I think that's the case in a lot of situations (and why we see some of the guild alliances that happen in CU:V).

Just wanted to provide a heads up that I just saw this Thread and have now contacted an appropriate department to find out what's going on.

Will try to provide more information as soon as possible.

It looks like around 3:30 am PST the Login Servers began to experience an issue.

It was quickly noticed through our alert system and our On-Call Team began troubleshooting the overall issue, but unfortunately that process took quite a bit of time, and eventually required all Servers to be brought down and restarted to ensure a stable environment going forward.

I am sorry that this wasn't communicated sooner, and that it took a while to be resolved.

We're looking into why this is happening. It's unexpected for us (as in, whatever caused this was apparently undocumented or it would have appeared in the patch notes). With any luck it's just a setting that accidentally flooped on its own somehow. We'll see.
Please do not make additional Threads.

There are already quite a few on-going discussions about the name, such as this one : https://forums.enmasse.com/tera/discussion/12061/paragon
i've been unable to server transfer since the Tuesday maintenance

i keep getting an error '' target server was not able to accomodate the character''

has this been happening to anyone else and does anyone know how to fix it?

This was already brough up by other players in another Thread : https://forums.enmasse.com/tera/discussion/12091/server-transfer-error
As title said, dungeon entries doesn't reset anymore, unless reset time changed.

Looking clarification for this issue @Spacecats

Are you referring to the use of Dungeon Reset Scrolls that had already recently been brought up in the Forums, or are you referring to the actual reset time that all dungeon entries reset ?

Can you add a Screenshot ?

Character's on an En Masse Account are not deleted after a long duration of being absent from the game.

In this case, the most likely scenario is that you're logging in with one Email you had thought you had used, but instead, the character's were actually created with an alternative Email.
Please use the existing threads instead of creating duplicates.

Sorry but once this vote is finished, our team will need to get to work making sure all the game files are ready when it comes time to launch the new class.

Yes, but only if you want to get banned from the game :)

Please see the forum Rules & Guidelines:

F. Multiple Accounts and Impersonation
- Creation of multiple accounts by a single individual solely for use on the official forums.
- Creation of multiple accounts for the purpose of evading suspension or account closure.
- Any impersonation of other individuals or En Masse Entertainment, Bluehole Studio, or their partners' employees. Note: All En Masse Entertainment, Bluehole Studio, and partner company representatives are required to have a custom title denoting their position and employer, so you will always be aware of whom is a company representative.

You don't have the [filtered] to ban players from the game :) just the forums

Not sure what word you're using here, but I'm pretty sure I've got it.

if you look at the polls,
there's only two leading names: moondancer and valkyrie

the other 3 names are too far behind!!

Maybe its a good idea to update the poll to just allow two choices ,since there's no way the other 3 names will ever win. Plus since the Race is so close between "moondancer" and "Valkyrie" , all those little votes are important!!

@Spacecats

We're only two hours into a poll that will run until Sunday at Midnight. I think it's safe to say there are a lot of people that can still change the outcome of the vote.
It's true we have no plans to release these in our version.
Changed the name of this thread to remove "Lunar Dancer" since it's not an option in the poll, and because I'd like to refer to this thread when discussing the poll itself without giving bias as to who people should vote for.

I commented in another thread about Lunar Dancer, but let me copy paste:

Using two words isn't feasible, and the explanation there is a bit technical. Basically TERA automatically capitalizes class names in some situations but not others. Having a two word class name opens up many possibilities where it would display incorrectly. So rather than having "Lunardancer" which just looks like two words mashed together, "Moondancer" reads and sounds much cleaner if players end up voting for it.

The idea to let the community decide on the new class name? Should I find a mirror so I can see it, or just slapping myself right away? ;D

Don't go there space cats. To be honest a poll was a smart decisions. let's the community at large make a choice. What should not have been done was allow them to see the actually results. Not until the 5th.

Unfortunately that's not something that can be tweaked with the Vanilla forum polls. I did disable the setting that lets people see specifically who voted for who since that seemed unnecessary.
I'm going to close this thread for a couple reasons.

1) It's basically a duplicate of existing discussions. If you want to talk about the poll, go here. If you want to talk about the class and what it's like, go here.

2) This thread is pretty much attempting to belittle or dismiss player choices in the poll rather than campaign for a name you like. If you don't like one of the choices, please just don't vote for it. The goal of this poll is to find out what the majority of TERA players want the name to be, not to talk bad about people who voted for something you don't personally like.

EDIT - Idi0ticGenius corrected me here. There are some appearances of the moon in the skills for the new class.

Read the link. How about the fact that there are all these translated names with "moon" in them, or the translated class name .... maybe do some research first be for getting sassy Space-y.

No sass intended honestly. I kind of already addressed this if you read my follow-up post about the direct translation of Korean. There are actually multiple instances in NA TERA where the history lore, character names, item names, location names, and even quest plots are different from the Korean version of TERA. This is done as part of the localization process and carries over to other English speaking regions.

Glaiver has been mentioned by some players as a potential name, but it's kind of bland and honestly sounds a bit weird when you speak it aloud. We wanted to stick with more exciting possibilities.
Thanks to the feedback you guys have provided (both here, in other threads, in chat, and in the Player Council), a new poll has been created to determine the name of the new class:

https://forums.enmasse.com/tera/discussion/12114/poll-name-the-next-tera-class

Please do your part by spreading the word. Let everyone know about this poll so we can get a solid result that represents as many TERA players as possible.

I'm leaving the discussion in the poll itself closed so as to not sway any potential votes with the first comments that happen to pop in the thread. We want to know what YOU feel deep down. What name speaks to you the most? Voting will close at Midnight on Sunday, March 5.
As was shown in the recent "It’s Time to Reserve Your Paragon Name" article (which you should all check out), the decided name for the upcoming TERA class is... the Paragon!

... or is it?

Shortly after the release of the article, we started getting quite a bit of community feedback on the Paragon name. Several players stated they didn't like the name or that it didn't fit with their expectations of the class. Because of this, we've decided to do something never before done for a new class - A COMMUNITY VOTE!

Make your voice heard and help determine the name of the upcoming TERA class! Which name says "glaive-wielding Castanic badass" to you? Votes will be tallied this Sunday, March 5 at Midnight PST.

To help you in your voting decision, here are a few things we can tell you about the new class and how she will behave. Keep in mind that just like in the overall TERA storyline, there will be some variations between the Korean release of the class and the NA release of the class. Things like item and skill names will not be exactly the same (for one thing, they'll be in English :p ) and may be tailored to the name that is chosen:
  • The class will wield a weapon called a glaive. An agile polearm with a curved blade at the end.
  • All members of this class will be female Castanic.
  • The class is focused on evasion, style, and damage output.
  • The look and feel of some skills use moon references. They also feature flames, sparks/stars, slashing effects, swirling wind, arcane circle patterns, wave attacks, spinning the glaive overhead, striking the ground (and even fracturing it), charging/rushing attacks, and attacks that leap high into the air.
  • The class is an experienced soldier in the Valkyon Federation.

I'm sorry, but I am 100% sure that this class has several references to the moon. Let's start with the Official Developer's Note about this new class. Please read the translated version of official BHS developer's note:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vHWmTaTjWIH054_u81Mw5gLxJRhQlgI5XHdhWSrOfhc/edit?usp=sharing

Here, there have been several references to the moon for this class. Even using skills show Moon as well.

Very first thing you notice is this line
To emphasize on character skill traits, we’ve chosen the Moon as the concept.
The moon brought the symbol of sharpness and coldness,
and we’ve set the powerful final blow Lunar Scar and Blood Moon as the base concept.

Moon was the very base concept for this class, thus leading to the choice of weapon being Glaive. Without the concept of moon in mind, this class would never have been created.
In order to find the right weapon and motion, we’ve investigated and thought through carefully from Korean Woldo arts, 24 Martial Arts, Chinese Podao*Guandao arts, Japanese Naginata, etc.
(We’ve even tried to mimic them with a large umbrella in empty meeting room too...)
In the end, we decided on Glaives (to be exact with original text: Chinese Guandao) that focuses striking with large blade at the tip and swinging around spinning motion to attack, and a Leather armor to match the dextrous movements.

Here, Woldo (월도; 月刀) literally means Moon Blade, which we can call it Crescent Blade. Podao (朴刀; Plain Blade) and Guandao(关刀 ; Blade of Guan Yu). Guandao is also called Crescent Moon Blade (偃月刀) and if you've read Romance of Three Kingdoms or seen any works related to it, you will never miss this weapon called Green Dragon Crescent Blade (青龍偃月刀). Notice that we see 月刀 again, which is Crescent Blade portion of the word, and like I said, this literally means Moon Blade. Guandao is famous enough to appear in several works aside from anything related to three kingdoms.

And if people still don't understand why I called it Lunar Dancer, it's because they literally described it as one
At last, a Castanic Female who cuts through enemies at melee range while gathering powers from moonlight to infuse on to their glaives, Lunar Dancer was born. Now we’ll go over more details about the traits that Lunar Dancer has.
[...]
There are other various attack motions other than wide swings, and her fluid like chain skills as she slices through her enemies,
is almost as if she is dancing under the moonlight.

A melee class that slices through enemies swiftly and elegantly with her weapon infused with the power of moonlight, almost as if she is dancing under moonlight.

Again, BHS emphasizes their main concept of Moon.

My translations are mostly rewritten word-for-word without much of modification to keep their original meanings. So "Lunar Dancer" is not simply a fan-made, but the combination of both concept and design that the developer had in mind. I respected the ideas and concepts so I tried to keep them at best of my abilities to translate.

Also, majority of their skill names are based on Moon. I'll even specify what Chinese derived words they used for their names in parentheses, so see how many Moon (月) you find:

I am giving you three different naming for them:
1. Direct Translation
2. Names for the skill icon in English given by BHS
3. What Sam and I translated as

Consecutive Hit Slash (連擊斬)- Combo - Combo Attack
Dodge (回避) - Moon Shadow - Evasive Roll (though, Moon Shadow sounds pretty nice)
Moonlight Resonance (月光의 孔明)- Moonlight Burst - Moonlight Dash
Rise Hit Slash (昇擊斬) - Rising Shot - Skyward Slash
Wind Slash (風斬) - Cross Way - Gale Slash
Rupture Slash (破裂斬) - Burst - Piercing Moonlight
Earth Hit Slash (地擊斬) - Cutting - Fracture
Moon Wave Slash (月波斬) - Split - Moon Fang
Moonlight Lunge (月光跳躍) - Dash Cut - Lunar Rush
Rise Attack (起床攻擊) - Rising Attack - Retaliate
Moonlight Gravity (月光의 引力)- Moon Gravity - Lunar Gravity
Moonlight Blast (月光爆)- Throw Glaive - Lunar Crash
Consecutive Spin Slash (連廻斬)- Helicopter Cuts - Rolling Moon
Moonlight Follow (月光沿) - Moon Catch - Umbra Slash
Soul Hit Slash (魂擊斬)- Fatal Shot - Soul Scythe
True Moon Light (眞月明)- Moonlight - Gathering Moonlight
Spin Wind Slash (旋風斬)- Twister - Typhoon
New Moon: Moonlight Resonance (新月:月光의 孔明) - Crescent Cut - New Moon: Moonlight Burst
Moonlight's Blessing (月光의 加護) - Moon Grace Buff - Moonlight Sanctuary
Red Moon (赤月) - Red Moon - Blood Moon
Full Moon (滿月) - Full Moon - Full Moon

You may have noticed (明) this character has sun(日) and moon (月) together, creating Bright (明) since both sun and moon provides light to the word day and night.

With the amount of "moon" present in the original text, (not counting 明), that's 11/21. At least half of their skills are based on moon.

Also check out how some skill animation shows Moon:

Moonlight Blast (月光爆)- Throw Glaive - Lunar Crash:
59115c73a4c7492ab3633ab855c2d955.png

Red Moon (赤月) - Red Moon - Blood Moon
c1f9b3df5ae041adbca0fa87b2b49964.png

There are several others where if you use Full moon, you will see that it draws ~8m radius sized moon on the ground, indicating the range of the attack (although, the attack still hits at around 10~12m).

I stand corrected! The moves you showed definitely have moon references in them. The footage I've seen from the class shows fire elements as well, along with a lot of "slash" particle effects and wave effects, but seeing those screenshots is undeniable proof that there's a tie between the crescent weapon and the shape of the moon.

As for the names of moves that you listed - they're direct translations from Korean. Part of localizing a game includes renaming things, so a move called "Gathering Moonlight" as a direct translation in Korean can easily turn into something like "Harness Aether" depending on the theme we go with. I hadn't seen the names you listed as a direct translation so I apologize for my comment!
Check your parcel!
4/4 is not a confirmed date for the new class launch, sorry to disappoint. The way the name reservation event works is that we set the reservation AND the claim periods at the same time. the 4th of April is the earliest possible date that the new class could come out, but it's not a guarantee. I set that as the date for the claim event to begin to make sure that nobody who reserved their name would be unable to create their new character during launch, because that would just about be the worst experience possible.
You guys got it. :)

Oh, well, that's unlucky.

I already allowed TERA everywhere and disabled any security softwares but it didn't really help.
I'll just submit a ticket then. Tera also keeps patching everytime I open it (for whatever reason)

With some Security Software, disabling isn't always enough, which is why I had said to try "temporarily uninstall".

Beyond that, another step that may be needed is specifically restarting the computer in "Clean Boot" : ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135 ), which will only allow the essential programs needed to operate Windows to load after the computer is restarted.
I'm sorry. The original thread was closed, because it was around the exact same time as an unexpected Server Maintenance, and we had figured it was directly related...

You'll most likely want to submit a Support Ticket with an attached EME Diagnostic ( http://support.enmasse.com/tera/resolve-technical-issues-with-the-diagnostic-tool ) so we can look into it for you, but it's worth mentioning that this issue is typically caused by conflicting Firewall or Security Software that is installed on the computer, and you may need to add exceptions or temporarily uninstall software in order to fix it and be able to login to any server you're trying to access.

I'm not too pleased with the Lancers Backstep being unaffected no longer by attack speed. It actually is a lot slower compared to how it once was. I consider this a debuff.. What do Lancer gain out of this?

The patch notes are wrong about lancers. Back in Ktera, this change went through, and the animation was just to laugh. It was so slow that players complained and it got reverted with a slight increase on the iframe duration, which is what we got. I did some tests before logging out, and the atk speed does have an effect on how fast the animation is on Backstep. The iframe time was increased, which is HUGE. I cant recall by how many miliseconds or seconds, but is enough to dodge one shot mechanics that can be dodged without so much precision as before.

How does that make the patch notes wrong? How would you reword it?

Trolling is different than harassment. Spreading the rumor that "reports don't work" actually helps the people we're trying to ban because it tells victims of harassment that they shouldn't bother submitting anything. Blocking a player that is harassing you or others just means they'll move on to other people. Reporting them helps the whole TERA community by getting rid of the bad player.

Global chat is taken into consideration when judging whether or not a player is penalized. It still helps when players report bad behavior because it guarantees that player will be investigated.

BTW, @Spacecats --I see that the solution for the event's awarding of only a single catalyst while leveling has been to send 3 posts with 1 catalyst each (after getting only 1 at 55 and 60, I got all 3 for 65 (in 3 separate posts)). Are the instances where we only got the one catalyst going to be remedied, or are we just out of luck? (Seeing as how the event is ending and cats are going **poof** and all. . . )

We're still trying to determine how many players were affected by that bug. It will be up to Noesis to determine whether or not any catalysts are given out as a result, but as of right now it doesn't seem like it amounts to much considering there were a number of other ways to earn catalysts throughout the event.
Tier 7 gear should get you off to a good start doing Castle Aranea (solo) runs in order to gear up into Slaughter. Slaughter is fairly easy to enchant too, so it won't take long before you're able to group up and do base dungeons, then run the new Ace Dungeons on the side when you're not up for grouping. Since you're an experienced player you'll probably be able to shave some time just knowing how dungeons progress and what's expected in a group. Not to mention by finding a guild to get you going again will help a ton.

As for game changes, the Ninja is a new class you missed after Brawler came out last year. The Archer, Sorcerer, and Warrior have also gotten significant re-balances. There are several new dungeons (as well as some you're probably familiar with). Essential Mana has some excellent guides that will help you learn those quickly.

Tonight, Feb 27, is the last Mongo spawn event. No more catalysts will drop after tomorrow's maintenance.
They are tested prior to the event to make sure they can fight properly, but their stats can't be changed. A Lachelith spawned out in the open will deal damage and have the same HP as one in Ruinous Manor.

Some boss mechanics are based on their dungeon surroundings, so sometimes that causes weirdness that prevents us from using that boss. We check that kind of stuff in advance. As far as attacks that kill players, that's just part of what makes a boss a boss. Some are always going to be way easier/harder than others.
Hmmmm.....

k ;)
Thanks for posting about this, you guys. We WILL leave Kyra's Pop-Up Potion Shack up and running for an additional week. The event is still ending and no more catalysts will drop after tomorrow's maintenance, but players with existing catalysts will have a little extra time to redeem and spend them.

Exactly what I came here to say. The issue is more upsetting than silly, though. The best thing to do is report (through a customer support ticket) the players that are using derogatory language so that they can be dealt with officially. We don't tolerate player harassment in TERA.
Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Not being able to log in whatsoever is kind of a rare occurrence, and vague as far as details are concerned. Mongos.

Where do they come from? What makes a Mongo a Mongo? Is a Mongo born, or is each Mongo forged through time and tested against secret underground trials of Mongodom? Is there a Mongo leader?

When Mongos disappear, where do they go? Is there a cave or alternate dimension where they live and die without the temptation to wander aimlessly in open world zones? Without catalysts to steal? Without the constant threat of adventurers "capturing" them with the edge of their blades?

So many questions. So much mystery surrounding these rare creatures. And today, starting at 3 p.m. PST...

... none of them will be answered. But we WILL kill a lot of Mongos for their loot. More than last week. <3

Well I've been active with posting in the forums every day (weekends aside) except for February 8th which was a big planning day for me in the office. Admittedly there are topics I don't comment on right away because I have no details to share, so I guess it depends on what you mean by general communication. Do you have a specific topic in mind or do you just wish I posted even more?

I'll likely open up Player Council for new applicants later this year. There are a few members that have had to take extended breaks because they started college or had a big lifestyle shift that keeps them from playing TERA all the time. Right, so with all of the feedback you have now, we'd appreciate an update on the Mongo event tonight, regarding the removal of the potionmaster box from the Legendary BAMs, their abysmal HP pool, and the time it will be taking place.

Well Odon is just Odon. Legendary Mongos don't share a common HP pool. Nightmare Odons in Legendary Mongo events are strong as he normally is in Demokron Factory Hard Mode. He won't appear again this event, but there will still be a chance that future Legendary Mongos aren't as beastly as, say, Shandra Manaya or Koleogg.
This sounds like a potential issue with your TERA client. Please create a customer support ticket so that one of our support crew can help troubleshoot the problem:

Nope. Spacecats and Noesis along with other members of the eme team read the forums. That's why it's important that if there is something you want to see or have changed that you write about it constructively.

WRONG WRONG WRONG (or lies imo) as Spacecats said himself in a reply to the thread with a letter writing to enmasse and signed by tons of people and guilds. Points dont matter if you are not a player council.

Why do you want to know? They addressed it within five minutes on the forums, and it was fixed within 15 minutes. It was a perfect response.

All I know is that after all the aggressive and reactionary posts on the forums from LesbianVi I expected your brawler to be well geared. Ground pounder as a top roll? Hmm...

A little transparency on service disruption goes a long way. A simple, the server crashed for unknown reasons would suffice for example.

There was a forum message displayed throughout the day giving the gist of it. It was an unexpected server failure that caused a reboot. Players were able to log back in almost right away.

I was doing Golden Labyrinth just now and my ping went from 200ms to over 900ms. As a healer, that's not very good to my party and I.

Is 200ms your usual speed? Did other people in your party also experience that lag at the same moment? Where are you located?
I appreciate the feedback, guys. FYI the common Mongos were changed to no longer drop Healing or MP Motes because there were several complaints that those drops weren't very satisfying. A couple additional items were added to their drops to replace them.

Please avoid creating duplicate threads as it is against the forum rules. Feedback for the event should be left here:

Guess its not a typo.... remind me what the point is of a 90 minute warning btw?

So you know it's happening in 90 minutes ;)
Ummm, the legendarys die so fast that some people are able to solo them and thus not even everyone can get close to teachign the target point

Odon is a little bit of a pushover, true. I know a lot of the fun of Legendary hunting is tracking down the BAM, but ultimately people are going to be able to kill it without waiting if they don't feel like being generous. Hopefully you're able to land yourself a good hunting group that likes to work together to find the next one.
in 90 mins, future event times will be based on March's time zone, man they are pushing times to late hours, one day I could stay awake to do mongo hunt, and they pushed it further :( I go to bed. Not fair lol

The next couple Legends will appear earlier in the day. Tomorrow's bunch will be spawned during the Twitch stream. Kind of like last week, but with Mr. Darkan disappointing us by not appearing I want to ramp things up for this one. I hope you can make it!

You are using mods! Thats whats going on! Hacker!

idk :\ probably some bug that will never get fixed

Well it's not like this is something people experience all the time. The fact that it was only Naizilla means it was something funky with just one client (so not a bug). Especially if that client is modded...

This is why we ask players not to mod their files. In this case it's just weird and sort of funny, but a lot of the time things just break and prevent people from playing which isn't cool.

The response time on Support Tickets is around 6 days currently, and we're continuing to get that number back down to around the 24 hour time frame.

If players have been waiting longer than that ( as of today ), it might be worth checking to see if the Ticket was responded to already, or perhaps didn't get completely submitted.

Maybe you have some information on the levelling catalysts?

I know I personally reported it to other Teams, but unfortunately not the status of being changed. :(

We're constantly monitoring the performance of TERA servers. When there's an issue like today where players are disconnected or a server goes down, we're alerted immediately so that the problem can be corrected by our Operations team. In the case of brief lag spikes, it's a bit harder to monitor and often varies on the region of the player and their route to the TERA servers in Chicago.

If you don't mind me asking Rimbaldi, what kind of ping were you getting during the lag spikes and where are you located? What area of the game were you in? What's your ping usually like? Also, did other members of your party or guild also get ping spikes at that exact moment?
Servers are back online and players are logging in now. Thanks for your patience, everyone!

So.. how fast & furious is the "appropriate team" doing so far? Did the server manifold blow or was it the gearbox between mongos and servers.

The effected servers are still being restarted, along with the Battleground / Dungeon Servers for those who had been connected to them.
No ETA as of yet, but things are moving fairly quickly.

That was actually rather furious speed. All servers are already up and running. Thumbs up to the fast & furious team ^

Yup, we're back online! Thanks for your patience, everyone!

This is my guess as to why the HP doesn't update, even though Magnarox does take damage. It's because it's out of the environment where it's supposed to always exist with the sword mechanic in AINM/AIHM. That sword has a HP bar of it's own. The two HP bars of both entities overlap in the UI and whichever one you are closest to gets swapped to the foreground, while the other stays the in background, partially visible. Magnarox's HP bar can't ever exist as a single HP bar on it's own and because of that the UI bugs out.

I like that theory because it does speak to how bosses tend to work with dungeon environments in TERA to make complex encounters... but actually the Magnarox HP bar was something I did deliberately because Magnarox is otherwise kind of a wimp and wouldn't last very long if other people wanted to show up and help kill it. Next time I think I'll just him get his [filtered] kicked, though, just to make things less confusing.
Closing this thread. It has devolved into a lot of bickering between NA and EU, personal attacks between players, rumor spreading, and a lot of political comments (many of which have been moderated). Please be excellent to each other.

Remember that political discussion is against the forum rules. TERA has nothing to do with politics, so political discussions will always be off topic. Any mention of political activity, figures, and slogans will be moderated.

@Spacecats is there a way you guys can remove the click the check box on catalyst? it is a tedious process to do when you have a lot of catalyst in your inventory.

No sorry, there's really no way to remove it. Catalysts are actually a bit complicated in that they're tied directly to your En Masse account (which is why catalysts carry over from character to character). The back end requirements for an item like this means it needs to have a pop-up window, just like Elite status vouchers.

Since you are here already, can we know why the legendary mongos haven't spawned yet? or there will be no legendary mongos today?

It's changing every day. Today's ice cream is Meldita flavored and should show up at about 6 p.m. PST :)

I don't feel like it's that it's actually changing every day when they've spawned at the same time the past 4 days, I feel like it's more that it got wiped when maintenance and you all realised late...

Could there at least be some consistency tho in legendary spawn times? People plan their dungeons/time spent in this game around events like these, you can at the very least allow some sort of consistency for people that are being loyal and participating in your events.

The spawns will consistently be announced 30 minutes in advance, giving players players enough time to finish their dungeon run and prepare to hunt them. Tonight's Legendary was announced 7 minutes ago. The first Legend (Gorgoth) spawned at this time as well. Last night's spawned only 30 minutes after the event began.
Multiple threads were made about this. Please refer to the image Midoku posted from the Mongo guide:

And if you have feedback about the event please post it in the main feedback thread so we can keep things nicely organized. Thanks guys!

@Spacecats I don't know if you guys have done it this event(seriously doesn't seem like it) but can you add a de-spawn feature to mongos, like after 5 minutes of not being found they spawn someplace else after their spawn timer is up(if they have one) to at least prevent mongos from being stuck in walls and underground? Cause I would imagine a lot if not most of the issue of "lack of spawns" comes from a good chunk of them are just unavailable to us just because of this bug that has been here and not fixed since the first event, and it's irritating to find an uncommon or rare sitting in a rock and only being able to kill it with a thrall or wraith in order to make it spawn someplace else hopefully.

Also throwing this out here remove motes in general and replace with a worthless pot, even ones from NPC just anything players can actually use, cause that's the main reason we hate motes that they are literally worthless and anything would be better than something we can't even use.

The 5 minute lifespan isn't doable, unfortunately. There just isn't that kind of customization available with the tools we're using to create this event. The problem of Mongos being stuck underground is something that still happens, but it's rare enough that it shouldn't matter within the span of a single Mongo-spawning session. The time we really noticed it happening was after multiple days of constant spawns.

I've been hunting Mongos every day and I've had mixed success. I tend to log in towards the end of the event, and IMO the frequency is what I anticipated it would be. Last night I got fewer catalysts than on Sunday night when I hit a jackpot of uncommon Mongos (I got lucky). Even then, there were moments when I was killing 2 or 3 common Mongos simultaneously.

I appreciate you trying to give us ideas but it'd be great if instead of assuming "we're just not doing it correctly" or "trying hard enough" that maybe it's actually that inconsistent and unfair to the people who are trying to enjoy this event and just getting motes. :/

Like it is super disheartening to hear you say "just try this" or "It's working as I intended it to."

If I'm not getting nearly ANY catalysts what is the point of this event? I'm actually very curious. I get that you said it's "not your ticket to +15" but that's literally patronizing as heck. Like. We aren't asking for that. Is it actually a bad thing to give your community what they want? Because other than that kid who very interestingly exclaimed it should be like neon mongos ( I think we all agree it should never be ) is it that bad to have an event where time + effort = reward? If we go for 6 hours straight I think it's pretty reasonable that we should get a lot of catalysts. But other than sunday (I farmed 200 in 6 hours) I've been trying to grind commons and just getting motes and potions so that's not exactly a viable way to get Kyra's.

But I guess if you made this as a "oh you can maybe get 1-2 Kyra's between dungeons" event than you shouldn't even advertise it or atleast make it clear that this isn't a grind/farm event.

I like you, like a lot. You're my favorite person on the team. So hearing you doubt the accuracy of our claims or trying to offer help as if we haven't tried plenty of things just really hurts tbh

Hey roxxapoxx sorry if what I said was in any way disheartening. I didn't mean to imply that you or anyone wasn't trying hard enough or that you're doing it wrong. I was just giving some tips based off how I know the TERA server spawns Mongos along with what I've had success doing personally. There's more to it than just my gut feeling when it comes to measuring the success and balance of an event like this.

For instance, we're also able to monitor the number of catalysts all players are getting on every server and how they're getting them. Just like we're able to measure feedstock, alkahest, crystals, EMP, costumes, BAM kills, and pretty much everything else. So when some players say they expect more catalysts while others say they're getting plenty of catalysts, we check the number of claimed catalysts out there. Nothing is set in stone so if it does look like things need adjusting, we're totally up for doing it. At the moment things actually look pretty well balanced. Obviously that's upsetting to people who feel like they aren't getting rewarded enough, but just like not every player will get to successfully enchant an item to +12 on the first try or get the niveot they want when combining crystals, there's a random factor to the game that means some players will inevitably get more loot than others just based off luck. I hope that makes sense.

Is it me or did they nerf the heck out of regular common/uncommon/rare mongo spawns? My frequency of finding these have been abysmal today, compared to the last 3 days :/

Nope thats your normal spawns, if you're lucky to find one, it'll most likely drop a mote anyways. IMO they should make the spawn rate similar to the Neon Mongo event with 1 guaranteed catalyst as a drop and make the loot parcel mailed to everyone in a raid.

What you're proposing would result in an insane influx of catalysts, enchanting mats, accessories, etc...

Imagine 30 people hunting one area for 7 hours and getting a catalyst any time a single person killed a Mongo. Not only would it encourage people to afk and not actually participate in the event, it would encourage people to run multiple accounts like gold farmers.

I know it seems like you must have a 100% mote drop rate when it comes to Mongos (from your comments I honestly can't tell if you're participating in this Mongo event anymore, LancerJiva), but the event is designed to compliment Kyra's Pop-Up Potion Shack, not serve as an end-all source for getting +15 ambush. Some minor adjustments might be made before Feb 28, but nothing as extreme as what you're describing.
Grievuuz wrote: »

No, the spawns haven't been reduced. Have you been staying in the same area and channel, or mixing it up between channels? It's possible for more Mongos to spawn in the same channel after being hunted in another one. So for instance if Basilisk Crag channels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 get heavily hunted, channel 6 may end up getting a lot of respawns which stay safely un-hunted until people swap to that channel. The distribution doesn't stay 100% equal.

Honestly, they could've just started it at 12PM (midday). Then EU and NA would both be able to participate in the event.

Because this Mongo event is set up to support Kyra's Potion Shack, we wanted to run Mongos for a limited window. 3 p.m. PST is 11 p.m. GMT, so players in EU with more or less typical daily scheduled should still be able to catch the beginning of it. There are quite a few regions to consider for TERA, but of course we are the North American publisher, so we will always lean towards times that favor NA players.

In the case of additional time windows, we tried that last Mongo (Neon) and still got a variety of complaints. So in other words the time slot thing is a bit of a balancing act and we want to see how this one goes before making more decisions. We want to go with a method that benefits as many players as possible without running the event 24/7 (which would be OP).
