We don't have an ETA for the brawler class yet, but we will be sure to share more information as they become available.
This is a known bug that we're going to fix in mid-September (hopefully next week or so). Sorry about that.

Unfortunately, a bug is preventing us from adding the new items to the dressing room. It should hopefully be fixed soon (sometime next week).

This was a bug that we fixed 1-2 days ago. Sorry about that. xD

Dear Community,

Today I want to share with you the most difficult decision I have ever made – to take an opportunity to travel abroad and leave En Masse as of September 14.

I made this personal choice to spend more time with my family who have been traveling abroad for work, and to pursue the dream of international travel. While I am wildly excited about getting a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity like this to visit Europe, the decision had to be made almost immediately to accommodate the travel schedule. And it simply wouldn’t be fair for me to suddenly take such long and frequent breaks away from the game, En Masse teams, and most of all, the TERA community.

I joined En Masse in February 2010 in the role of a Production Assistant/Translator to help the communication between Bluehole and En Masse, and it was during the closed beta tests in early 2012 that I became the Community Manager. Seeing everyone rushing in when the servers opened and watching the Primes get their titles are some of the things I remember, but what I felt during those days can be best described as a whirlwind of happiness despite the long hours in the office. The last five and half years I’ve spent at En Masse with you definitely have been the most exhilarating and rewarding time of my life, not to mention that I got to follow my passion for games and working in the game industry.

TERA is a living and breathing game that is always changing, and we have a lot of exciting stuff coming. As mentioned in the latest Producer’s Letter, we will see the instance dungeon and gold drop improvements soon, which are based on our community’s feedback. We also have new content to look forward to, including the changes in the beginning island and the new class, Brawler! I will be enjoying these as a player, and I hope to run into you on CH or HW sometime when I'm back home. :)

I myself am in a bit of shock at how fast the days are passing by, but I am happy that the TERA community will be in the hands of those who are committed to TERA. The En Masse team will step up to make sure that we communicate directly with you. In addition to continuing the Stuff of the Week, you will see more of Denommenator, Treeshark(after his honeymoon, of course), Harmonia and other staff on the forums, and we are looking for a Community Team Lead for our community.

I will treasure the fun we had, but my fondest memories will always be of you all - the TeamSpeak piano concert in Bastion, TERA rap battle in a guild voice chat, telling scary stories outside of the Eldritch Academy during Halloween, meeting you in person at PAX East & Prime, and talking to you about random stuff in game or on the forums. TERA may be just a game, but I love that I was able to connect with you as a person through TERA, even just for that moment.

Thank you all for being a part of TERA, and a part of my life.

I am not aware of a production point cost change or a plan in the future. (I also remember us having issues with server stability with event item gathering bots that we had to fix during a previous event.) Not yielding more materials is due to them being the event gatherables - at least this is how I understand it. (I don't think the patch notes were specifically addressing event gatherables.) :(:(:(

We have already forwarded our community's feedback on Dreamstorm and heard back that Bluehole will take them for future consideration. Gridiron feedback was also forwarded.
TL;DR of the thread from the way I see it:

1. It's nice to make an effort to improve one's gameplay in an MMO where people count on you.
2. It's nice to make an effort to guide others who are new to the game in a friendly and welcoming manner.

I know things aren't as clean cut as above, but let's stick to these and we won't have regrets.

Now we're talking. Wasps are much worse than regular ol' bees.
Although I am not too afraid of wasps either. I was stung only once and it didn't even do anything much. It hurt a little for half an hour and then it was gone. No swollen bits on my skin or anything.

I think we found your super power.
Bees in your room sound terrifying.. How are you holding up?? All bugs should stay outside and away. xD

For in-game events, we have Rootstock/Pond Faire/Bamarama starting tomorrow and we'll have Halloween stuff after that.

(I wanted the new class name to be "puncher". :P)
The 5-person queue for Corsair's Stronghold will be back with tomorrow's maintenance. While this queue isn't perfect, the desire to play with friends/guildies is something that we understand and want to encourage.

Game Improvements - Gold Drops and Max Level Dungeon Loot

Q: Are there updates on increasing the rewards in max level instance dungeons and the gold drops in game?

We are well aware of the community feedback on these issues and are making progress with the game’s developers on improving the situation around both these issues. In short, yes you can expect improvements in both regards. We hope to have an update for you sooner rather than later.

TERA Loading Issues or Seeing Consistent Game Freeze

Q: Some players are still experiencing the game freeze/performance issues. Is there a progress or a suggestion on improving this issue?

Unfortunately, this is a difficult issue to resolve as it appears to stem from conflicts with Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender. En Masse Entertainment is working closely with the Bluehole to resolve this issue and both teams consider it of the highest priority. Some progress has been made in investigating the issue but no solution has yet been found. We will provide continued updates on this issue as we have them.

In the meantime, please consult our news post on the issue for potential solutions. If the troubleshooting steps detailed in that news post do not work for you, it would be extremely helpful to us if you posted some details surrounding the issues you’re experiencing and your current PC setup (operating system, antivirus program, etc.)

Dreamstorm Experience

Q: Are there plans to improve the Dreamstorm experience for the healing classes?

At this time, there are no plans to changes planned for the Dreamstorm system, though we’ve passed our community's feedback to the developer for future consideration.

Rootstock, Pond Faire and Bamarama

Q: When will we be seeing Rootstock/Pond Faire/Bamarama back in game?

We have these events planned on the calendar and you can look forward to them starting soon. Stay tuned! :)

BuddyUp Program Reward: Midnight Party Dress

Q: The Moonlight party dress box from the BuddyUp Program rewards currently gives an incorrect item.

This is a bug that will be fixed in mid-September. The fix will be automatic and there is no action required on your part.

Agnitor Reputation NPC

Q: The Agnitor reputation NPC was removed with the Storm Season patch. Will it come back?

This NPC was removed without our knowledge in the Storm Season patch. We are currently exploring the possibility of having it added it back.

Blue, it seems like my sentence is taken out of context. If you look at the whole sentence, it provided a foundation for my comment - "I personally prefer male castanics (*swoon*) and female amani". Meaning, while I personally like those two race/gender combination the best, I still enjoyed seeing the loading screen and the Vine video I linked (that didn't include my favorites). :)
This was confirmed as a bug. >_< We need to get Bluehole's help with this, so the fix will be coming in the next few weeks. (This will be fixed automatically, so there is no action required on your part.) We're sorry about the inconvenience.

The Moonlight Party Dress that you receive by choosing this option once reaching level 65 with the BuddyUp Program is currently bugged and does not give the item. This but will be fixed following maintenance on September 1. Those players that have received the boxes thus far will receive a replacement, to be directly delivered to Item Claim. There is no action required on your part.


Q: Will we get Rootstock/Pondfaire/Bamarama back now that the summer festivals are over?

We're hoping to bring this event back for the Fall season. Stay tuned for more details on this.

Summer Festival and Agnitor Reputation NPC's

We're looking into re-instating these NPC's so that our players can use the tokens/credits they've acquired/saved. We hope to hear back some details soon.

Hey, sorry that this was announced so late. Because this is a very casual happy hour event at a bar, we think it'd be most suited for folks who are already in town for PAX Prime or who live in the area. Hopefully we'll get to have you in town next year. :)

Just to make sure, I don't need to have a ticket already or pay an entrance fee? I just want to be prepared. I wouldn't want to make the trip for the traffic and scenery.

No badge, ticket, or entrance fee required. :)

You do need to be at least 21 years old or older with valid identification (driver's license, etc.) though.

We will provide a free drink ticket that you can exchange with a drink of your choice, up to $10 value (you can pay for the cost difference if you'd prefer a fancier drink) and some snacks/food will be provided as well (but not individually ordered).
This is really well written, thank you for sharing. I've seen a lot of great feedback on this topic and I personally liked Squishy's (it was in another thread with a lot of pages) and your comparison points quite a bit. We've been aggregating and forwarding our community feedback, and would like to improve the Dreamstorm experience as well.

It also brought back a lot of memories for me, thank you. :) (My palms get sweaty just remembering the times I summoned my group a bit too late.... I felt so bad. And having a raid leader who gave clear POI instructions was so wonderful. *swoon* And a shoutout to all who did the 2 a.m. Nexus on weekends on CH.)
Less than 6 hours away from now! :D

We are still working for improvements on this, we have experienced it within our office too. It also seems to happen on some days and less so on other days on the same computer.. We've been forwarding all of the information we can get and are working with Bluehole. I know it sucks and we absolutely agree, we'll continue using this thread to update everyone.

The "solution" to this problem as given by NeroJoe and Hseju above is really unacceptable. This issue was first reported on the 23rd, and EME has yet to address it. Today my elite subscription "expired" when they apparently decided that it was too much trouble do the autobilling. I have been in Tera since launch, and have been an elite subscriber since it was available. My billing is to Paypal, and my Paypal account shows no attempt to collect for the autobilling. I am tired of getting answers from EME that go like, "Ok, we MIGHT have made a mistake, so here is what YOU (meaning me) have to do to recover from our f***up". That is not customer service, that is customer abuse.

Hello, I just confirmed with our Support Team that you are able to sign up for the Elite Status again without our team's assistance. And if you had the discounted Elite Status, you will be able to continue on at the discounted rate without our assistance, too (despite what the amount display says). Sorry for the inconvenience. :(

The main issue with stuff of the week is that if you have questions to ask about information posted from stuff of the week it's not responded to. Also we have no way to voice our opinions, and further more live help is being cut back on. While you do an excellent job of responding to tickets timely and GM's are very friendly and helpful it sad to have to wait days for help. It would be great to see you along with other staff members to get the answers in a round table like session. I understand that Minea you are the voice of the company online, but it would be nice to see some other people that show they care about this game and us.

I think we have to clarify some things first. The GM's are our Support Team and their primary responsibility is to answer the Support tickets and Live Chat. But most of the people you see around the forums are not, in fact, the GM's/Support Team. Harmonia and I are the Community Team (Harmonia generally handles the socials while you will see me frequently on the forums), and Treeshark is the TERA producer. We are different teams with different tasks. :) (Please see my post from earlier today here for more details.)

I really love the idea of having a round table session and we have introduced other En Masse staff members before, so we are always considering something like that. We love getting to know you as an individual person and we'd love for you to get to know us too. (Past examples: Community Team interview, Hot Pepper Fire Sale, Storm Season preview with Treeshark, etc.) Especially with Extra Life coming this fall, this is something that I'd like to look into more. (Oh and incidentally, if you're in Seattle this weekend, come and hang out with us on Friday! Free drink + food! :P)

However, we are also a small startup company with ~50 people across all departments including HR and Operations, and we will have to be pulling those away from their actual jobs in order to do this. So I want to be careful and not have their work or team impacted by it much. So right now, we are unable to commit to something like this without knowing if we will be able to support it and this is the reason why I believe focusing on the forums and Twitch may be a better option for us.
Folks, if you are experiencing this issue and could share a recorded video of how it freezes from when you start the game, we'd really appreciate it. We'll forward them as well.
I don't have an answer for the accessories but there will be new inner armors tomorrow.

Personally I want to make sure we continue focusing on the Stuff of the Week and possibly streaming a bit more again. I think those two channels of communication reach the goal in a more digestible (forum post since it can be stay pinned with links going back to previous ones) and timely (stream because we are able to see chat in nearly real time) way.

Let me clarify a few things.

First, the Support Team (aka the GM's) are the ones who help with technical issues, billing/account issues, in-game issues through the Support Tickets and Live Chat. The forum moderation is mostly handled by the Community Team. (Separating and clarifying this since using the word 'support' can be confusing.)

Second, following the forum rules is a requirement to use this private forums. All posts need to be constructive - some of the content that need to be avoided are personal attacks, callouts, inflammatory comments, overly dramatic comments, racist/sexist language, etc. We do have a clear subforum for you to familiarize yourself with them.

Third, we welcome negative feedback along with the positive. However, if the post content do not follow the rules, they will be moderated. There is an undeniable difference between the following examples: a) I don't like the current game's feature x because y, and it would make the gameplay better because of z reasons. b) Feature x killed the game and devs are morons who need to uninstall the game.
As you can see, example b has nothing constructive or helpful to improve the game OR the community. Just browsing a few pages in General Discussions, there are a lot of posts that are negative feedback on game features, but as long as they are constructive, they are still here. (Did you also know that some posts are merely 'hidden' and everyone can see the content if you clicked on the "+"? Sometimes this is done so that our community can view the public warning and see why the post is not okay.)

As for the staff communication, we do the best we can but there is always room for improvement. :) Always feel free to give us suggestions on what you'd like to see and how you'd like us to communicate better through posts, PM's, emails to community@enmasse.com, etc. One way that we talk with our community is through the weekly mini newsletter where we discuss the week's most popular/hottest topics. The current one is always pinned on top of the General Discussions with links to several previous weeks. (There is also a third party tracking site with a history of staff posts that may make things easier to follow.)

Lastly, if you have questions or comments on moderation, PM me directly, as discussing moderation is against the forum rules. :(

Q: The timing and desirability of the new pet Nugget was not good due to the low gold drops.

Player feedback surrounding the lack of gold drops has been well-received and it’s an issue we plan to pursue and hopefully address with the game developers. Returning Felicity to the Elite Box is certainly a possibility, and one we are willing to consider.

Folks, just letting you know, if the Elite Status was accidentally discontinued due to a technical issue we will be more than happy to continue applying the Elite Status at the discounted rate. Excluding the TERA folder from Windows Defender/Microsoft Security Essentials seems to be what other players are having the most success with for now, but it was also noted that they turn themselves on periodically.
You're always welcome to share negative feedback, but keep in mind that you must follow the forum rules and avoid overly dramatic/inflammatory content. If your comments do not contribute to the topic and discussion in a constructive way, then keep them away please. (For example, mentioning a former employee.)

For the gold spammers, just because you don't see an action taken immediately doesn't mean it's not being done. I know for a fact that an action was taken just an hour ago because I watched it get banned. As always, please continue reporting them and we will review them to take action.

As for the regions that can access the North American version of TERA, we currently have no plans to change the setting.

Also, any type of events or changes we make, we need the developer's support and help. As the publisher of TERA, we forward our community's feedback and request/make a lot of suggestions. However, at the end of the day, TERA is a global game that spans multiple regions and we are not the developer.

Unable to View the Support/Billing Page

We've been seeing some of our community members reporting that they cannot load the Support and billing pages of our website. We have been investigating this issue working closely with multiple players, and our current conclusion is that the issue lies within the ISP or the modem/router. The only successful workarounds that we've seen are connecting from a different location (such as school instead of home, etc.) or accessing the specific pages with cellular data on a mobile device after turning off the wi-fi.
Unless there is a specific announcement, it's always the same: 7-9 a.m. PDT as announced in the Server Status forums. :)
Here is our updated details on what's been going on and the announcement for the potential fix for this issue during the maintenance early tomorrow morning.
