I made an update about the forums in this thread.
Alas, with Harmonia leaving, and Spacecats and I taking on her responsibilities, we haven't put this back in place. We're definitely doing it this week, now that the GDC is over and we're caught up. You'll start seeing these updates from Spacecats, and if he's out, you'll see them from me.

Please tell him to visit CH and drop some cats. I need them. I need all the cats.

(BAMs are nice too, but mostly cats.)

I am sure this can be arranged. :)
Hi all!

I've talked to Denom about this thread.

First, he's checking out the rewards and will get back to y'all with an update.

Second, he confirmed that yes, the content switches each season. The content was determined in the build sent to us, but we can look into changing that up in the future.

What dungeons would you prefer to see grouped together or featured?
MarkDRx on 03/29/2016, 05:44 AM - view
A GM dropped them, most likely spacecats.... he likes cats

That is indeed, Spacecats doing. He was all over MT yesterday, dropping cats. And BAMs.
The forums are not the place to discuss hacking, cheating, or exploiting. If you see this behavior in-game, you should submit a support ticket with all the pertinent information, so the Support/GM teams can review and take action.

It is against the forum rules to call out players for these actions, or call out players in-general. It is also against the Forum Rules to discuss Moderation. If you have questions about the Forum Rules or Moderation policies, you can email community@enmasse.com.
We're not going to have an Easter Egg hunt in-game this weekend. We are, however, working on a few more Community-driven in-game events, including the plotting and planning for the Anniversary in May. Spacecats and I have some BAM events, social parties, an art contest, and more.

As we get the details nailed down, we'll announce them. This is on top of Denom's weekly in-game events.
Right here:

G. Discussion of Moderator Action
- Excessive or direct reference to past, present, or future moderator action on the official TERA forums.
- Excessive discussion or debate of the official TERA forums rules.

If you wish to discuss this topic, please do so via PM or via Community@enmasse.com. Continued violations of the Forum Rules can lead to the team revoking your forum posting privileges permanently.
It is against the Forum Rules to create posts and threads about moderation. If you have a question, concern, or need explanation of the rules, you can PM Spacecats or I directly, or email us at community@enmasse.com

Oshima on 03/23/2016, 12:10 PM - view
Spacecat you should also tell your community team to lay off on the delete/ edit button. There are good things that were said, serious advices that EME needs to listen to, but got deleted only because they came off strong. You shouldn't cover your ears and your eyes just because you don't like the tone. Moreover, that will only make people more upset, and they will come back with even stronger words, even insults. Then you would just ban them. That is a vicious cycle. What kind of company actively pushes players away?

The only items which are being deleted are actual insults against our staff or posts which continue to discuss moderation and post deletions.

You can say strong things, and difficult things. You can express frustration and, well, anything you wish in the context of TERA. You just need to follow the rules when you do. We haven't modified this thread other than the inappropriate comments, insults, or moderation discussion.

We want to keep this thread open and constructive; discussing moderation does not do that. If you wish to discuss Moderation and the Rules, you are welcome to email community@enmasse.com

If we can keep the thread on-topic, respectful, and constructive, we have no reason to delete posts and remove inappropriate things.

So people like myself who have banned forum accounts will be able to start afresh? Doesn't seem like a good idea.

Nope. Banned accounts will still be banned.
Catorii on 03/22/2016, 09:35 AM - view
That option better be ready by the time you actually launch them. The main site is unusable for me and a lot of other people that are prone to headaches or migraines. Literally can't look at the patch note page for more then 2 minutes without getting a pre-cursor to a migraine. It's an eyesore.

And if the "dark theme" is pitch black with white text, that's going to be just as bad as the terrible design you guys have done for the main site. Please make it close to our current theme - the colors are all very neutral and easy to see (text isn't quite white, but close, the background is dark grey rather than black, and the blue is very unoffensive).

I'm doing my best to pitch for it, but it really will depend on the resources from our web dev/platform/creative services teams.

Incoming forum wipe!

No wipe. This forum will be archived and locked. More like we're starting over fresh. :)
Just finished handling some bugs with the forum software company. We believe we have them 100% stable, and will be testing them out with the launch of Battleplans. The back end stuff is mostly complete.

Spacecats and I will be mapping out the new TERA forums, bringing over some content, guides, and such, so we'll be asking for your feedback for what we bring over.

As an aside, the new forums will pretty much match the newer website look & feel, but we do plan on offering an option for a dark theme for those of you who prefer that.
They're still on the way. :) Ops & Platform are still working on the backend so your EME account will allow you to log into the new forums. We'll have more updates as the team gets closer to all the engineering/programming and all.

If another contest is held, please consider letting the community vote on the winning entries. We're the ones who get stuck looking at the winners, after all.

That's one of the things I'm looking into. Ideally, it would be a combo of the community and EME.

But yes, we've got a contest coming down the road. We'll be announcing it a bit later, once all the legal stuff is worked out. :)

Fixed an issue with recently-released account-bound mounts (Socko, Saltyko, Crimsonmare, and Shadowmare).

Did you fix quacklemore too?

I just sent a note to Denom & Spacecats to verify.
We'll verify that's on the list, too.
GM: Danipants will be there!
We are investigating reports that emails are delayed, delivered to junk mail folders, or are not being delivered at all. We are working with our email service provider and with the major email services to resolve this issue. You may have trouble receiving the following emails:

Account activation emails
Account armor emails
Password reset emails
Elite subscription emails
EMP purchase receipts
Support ticket emails

We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding while the team works on the issues.
If all else fails, contact Support. They're standing...well..sitting by...to help folks with issues.
Please review the Support FAQ as directed on the 2nd post in this thread.

If you have feedback, comments, or are experiencing issues over expected changes, you should post in this thread so Denom can review and update the community.
Denom is aware and has spoken about it in this thread. Please leave all feedback regarding this Update/Patch in that thread.

It's been fixed! You should be able to go to the Support page FAQ now!
As always, the best thing to do is search the Support FAQs

Conversely, you could scroll up to the top menu and click "Support". You can do a search on the error or issue you're experiencing.
If you have feedback or see issues from the patch/update, you should post it in the thread for it.

Dawnfall Update Bugs, Issues, & Feedback thread.
Please review the 2nd post in this thread.
Here are some things you can try if you are receiving launcher issues:

Patch Progress Stuck On "Applying Patch"

Access Denied/Invalid

http://support.enmasse.com/tera/ has a lot of different things you can try for the different issues.

Also, we've notified Ops in case there are issues which aren't being reported in this thread.
We actually have lots of chatter about it in the thread to report issues with the patch and update:

Dawnfall Update Bugs, Issues, & Feedback Thread

Try some of the solutions there; if it does not work, you may need to contact Support.
Threads are removed if they violate the Forum Rules. Creating a thread with an insulting title and nothing in the body or "goodbye threads" are all causes for removal.

If folks really want to give constructive feedback, report issues, see Denom's responses to issues, it's best to stick to the thread specifically made for it.

If folks want to discuss the changes, that's fine. They should remain respectful, as in no insults against staff or other players.

We have numerous threads started by players which express their feelings about the updates and such, and those are fine. It's the insults, profanity, and "I quit" which get removed.
Thanks, passing it to Denom.

For future reports, please post your issues, bugs, and feedback to this thread:

Hello there!

Please post your issues, bugs, and feedback to this thread:

Dawnfall Update Bugs, Issues, & Feedback thread.

Greetings all,

In order to keep things easy for Denom & QA to find, we're going to have one thread set aside for bug reporting, issues, and feedback. Please post all your feedback here, and we'll be tracking it internally and updating as we have answers to your questions.

If you are just discussing things about the update, we'll leave those open. We'll only be closing bugs, issues, and specific feedback that is for Production / QA.

As someone who's been here since EME forums started up, I have to say, this is very shocking from what I've once seen, and I feel the exact opposite of how I once felt. You just said everything I have to say in a nutshell.

Sad that this post is probably going to get locked or deleted..

As long as it doesn't sink into insults and Rules violations, there's no reason to lock or remove it.

EME has become an absolute and total mess lately. I don't mean this to slander- only to simply ask what and why what had been happening has happened.

The forums and connection to the community is still very lacking. There are TWO CM's and many GM's, yet the players are still not connected with EME. There is a large amount of discontent with the title for FIHM, and the heart drop rate as well. Everything is simply ignored or brushed off by a GM/ CM saying "I'll pass it on to production!" Especially Denommenator, who is supposedly the Senior Producer- yet he has no power; simply the same, "I'll pass it on," or, "I'll look into it!" Of course I don't think that EME should be able to address every problem or concern that every player on the forums has, but at the same time, I think that EME should be able to give answers to things, not just "We'll look into that," or, "This will happen- most likely."

The fact that EME can't give definite answers about anything, or stand by their claims is rather unprofessional as well. Before Black Friday, Danicia on stream said that the build would be ready for the end of January with FIHM, however we all know how that went as it's now March and we are just finally getting said build. Following, we were promised patch notes LAST Tuesday, and every day after we were simply told, "You'll get them soon don't worry :)" If EME can't even stand by posting a text post, what CAN they stand by? Just some food for thought.

Alas, as we're the publisher, not the developer, many times we do not have the information at our finger tips. We sometimes don't know ahead of time the changes BHS implements. Sometimes we have to wait until a build is completely unpacked before we know what changes are in it. We've been working with BHS to have better communications and longer lead times on things.

We're also working to streamline a lot of our processes to try to get answers on things; sometimes we have to wait for a translation so it's not always quick. Which is why we say that we don't know a lot of the time.

We do say "We'll look into that" quite a bit. It is because, that is exactly what we have to do.

Regarding the FIHM, we gave the best information we had at the time. We have addressed why the dates and updates changed.

We didn't promise patch notes last Thursday. We promised that we'd have them Monday afternoon, like all patch notes. We're doing our best to make sure we have patch notes ahead of time for all updates at approximately 4pm the day before release.

Patch notes are more complicated than a text post.

As an aside, you have one fully dedicated CM who's learning the ropes. :) I'm focusing on projects (like getting new forums), plus our other games. I do spend a lot of time with TERA, but that's only one aspect of my role.

As Spacecats settles in, you'll notice better communication. He and Denom are working really well together, and he's been instrumental in getting many outstanding things addressed, or at least, on the Team's radar.

We know that many folks are frustrated, and we get that. We know that many have waited for a while to get better communication and things sorted out.

We're pushing for the team to be more transparent all around, which I believe will help eliminate the frustration, at least in regards to communications.

LOL, you guys always "go through everything to make sure there are no mistakes" yet when the update is released there is always a new bug, or something along those lines.

Ah! Well, there could be a bug pop up, because sometimes that just happens when you take the building into the live environment. But the patch notes should be right! :)
narkfestmojo on 02/29/2016, 04:09 PM - view
they always make huge numbers of mistakes in every patch note release (that no one who actually plays TERA would ever make) why not just publish them now?

So we don't make any mistakes with them, and QA is making sure everything is there.
Fleett on 02/29/2016, 04:08 PM - view

The reason your threads are getting deleted is the callouts. Calling out specific guilds will cause the thread to get instantly moderated. Not only that, but you won't get anything done making a forum post. The community can't do anything for you. Other than troll you and sympathize.

This is correct. If you wish to report players or guilds, you should file a support ticket. The forums are not a place for call outs, reporting other players, and such.
Venpai on 02/28/2016, 02:33 PM - view
if you sent a ticket in then you need to wait for them to respond. we, the players, can't help you. the forum mods can't help you either. sorry :c

Moved to Off-Topic.
We don't know yet. I would have to say that I would be pleased. I have a fondness for Hello Kitty.

Greetings all!

We'd like to give you a wee preview of the new in-game store coming to TERA on March 1 with the Dawnfall update.

We had a few goals with this new store update:

--Make it easier to find a product
--Make it easier to buy duplicate products simultaneously
--Make it easy to add additional features in future updates

Things to note:

• The store may have some issues surrounding release. Specifically, we'll be refining the sorting of items to make sure all the filters are working properly and that products are tagged correctly.

• The new in-game store does not support Windows XP and 2003. If you are using these operating systems, you will be met with an error when attempting to access the in-game store.

The store is based on the same technology as Kyra's Pop-Up Potion Shack. If you have issues displaying the potion shack in-game, you may have issues displaying the new in-game store. We'll continuously work to identify the source of these issues, but if you are having trouble please use the web store in the meantime (https://store.enmasse.com).

The first thing you will notice when you visit the new TERA store is the updated layout. We created a preview panel for the store products so we could show bigger preview images and make the description visible without having to hover your cursor over each store item.

We added a new "Fits my Character" filtering option to make it easier to find products relevant to your currently logged in character.

We added a text search box that searches the items' names and descriptions to make it easier to find items.

We wanted to make it easier to find items that were released as part of a set, such as the Gothic costumes and accessories. Rather than having players search for the individual items in their respective categories, a player can now click the "View Related Items" to see everything in one listing.

All items that are not account bound now have an item quantity drop-down so you can buy multiple copies simultaneously. This is a very early implementation of this system so we are limiting the number of items you can buy. Right now buying 10 items means you will receive 10 separate mails in item claim. We are investigating ways to change that in future releases.

Our new confirmation box shows the number of items you are purchasing along with the total cost in EMP.

When you complete your purchase, the confirmation window changes color and we display a message telling you where you can pick up your items.

This is only the first iteration of our new in-game store. Over the next few weeks we plan on adding these additional features:

--Ability to purchase EMP in-game
--Ability to manage your Elite Status in-game

We hope you enjoy the new store and we encourage you to share your thoughts and feedback on the new design in this thread following release tomorrow.

When can we expect detailed patch notes?

We'll have them on Monday, the 29th. QA is still working on them and we're finalizing all the details.

The Dawnfall update drops next Tuesday, March 1, bringing with it several exciting changes to TERA.

First and foremost, the Island of Dawn, TERA’s original starting zone, has been remade into a level 65 hunting ground. In addition, Dreadspire returns with two new levels and updated rewards, including Starfall gear. Plus, the hard mode for Forsaken Isle will be added to the game with this update.

For more info on the new update, check out the Dawnfall update page, which reveals more details about these changes.
TR is back online and you can login now.
Moved to Off-Topic.
We're aware of the issue and will be updating that thread.
Greetings all,

Our Operations Team is aware of this outage and is working to restore service to Tempest Reach. We'll be updating this thread as we have more information.

Thank you for your patience.

Well with the changes at BH and EM things have been hectic for them to say the least. Also Danica was/is a complete noob at tera and needs a full dive into the game to really learn it from lvl 1 to 65 and run all instances. I just think her other activities will hinder that, but I will give her a chance. I still think they need to hire a Tera player to do the live streams and play admin in chat. Just my two cents and now to add some more so I have enough to call someone who cares.

You should check the new streams. :) We've hired on Spacecats to the Community Team, who's restructuring the streams and is dedicated to all things TERA. Scroll down on this thread to read his introduction to the community.

He's got at least 1 level 65, numerous characters in their 40s and spends a LOT of time playing PvP. He's been working on more in-game events and new streams. I think you'll like him!
Greetings all,

If you have questions about the naming filters and such, please submit a Support ticket so Customer Service can respond and assist.

Thank you for your understanding.
Since this thread went wildly off-topic, and had a lot of inappropriate comments, we're locking it. If you wish to have a proper discussion about classes/races, you are all welcome to make those threads. Please remember to be respectful to other players while posting, and refrain from using inappropriate language.

Um no?
I watch everytime they stream.

I'm just saying cause people look forward to giveaways too.

We actually do giveaways during almost every stream, unless we didn't receive a batch of codes. Harmonia sends them out to folks via Twitch Inbox. We just don't randomly throw codes out there. We want folks to follow the channel and we like to reward folks who are actively participating.
Nayroy on 02/18/2016, 09:26 PM - view
I wonder if this player council will have moderators that EME hand pick.

Nope. All of the members of our Support Team who handle Support issues and in-game issues are all on-site EME employees.

And as an aside, if you see behaviors and language which violate the ToS & Rules, please do submit a Support ticket with all the information so the Support Team can take action. We appreciate it!
WhaleWhale on 02/18/2016, 05:16 PM - view

So when's the Roleplay event for Celestial Hills?

That is on our list of events, too. :) We're going to be building a regular schedule, so folks know ahead of time what we're planning and plotting. Spacecats has all kinds of ideas for in-game events, both social and peeveepees. Plus Dungeon runs and all kinds of things. :)

We'll have a server rotation, unless we're doing something like BAM events, where we can grab members of the Support Team & QA to assist in spawning them.
Mayfleet on 02/18/2016, 12:28 PM - view
I just wonder, why you keep say "your new CM"?

Because he's your new Community Manager! Harmonia and I are still here, but we work on numerous other things, too. Spacecats is dedicated to TERA!
Greetings all!

Your new Community Manager, Spacecats, will be visiting Mount Tyrannas for a special in-game event! He's looking for a fight and you'll get a chance to bring it to him!

He'll be randomly popping around the server, ready to get into some PvP with you! The first five players to beat him in a 1v1 will get something super awesome!

Tune in Friday, 2/19 at 3:00 p.m. Pacific to watch him get beat down by the MT Players!

Hello all,

We've received a message from Production that there is an issue with the leveling portion of the current Catalyst event for Brawlers. We have found that Brawlers are not receiving their catalysts when reacing levels 50, 55, and 60.

Production is implementing a fix during Tuesday's regular maintenance, but Brawlers will still see this issue until then. Production will be delivering the catalysts to those Brawlers that hit above the levels since the event started.

If you have a Brawler not receiving leveling catalysts for 50, 55, and 60, please do not submit a Support Ticket. This will be resolved through the system on Tuesday.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

So why waste everyone's time with yet another useless Stream? Make a new forum thread, let player's voice their concerns, let him read through it and see what he's got to work with, DON'T DELETE POSTS AGAIN and then let him form a response on the forums with what he's going to improve on to repair the multiple bridges that EME has not only burnt, but bombarded from orbit with a vast array of weaponry that breaches every single clause in the Geneva convention.

Because this is a "get to know you" chat, so you can meet Sean. We do streams for a variety of reasons, and this one is a social one. Which is, the job of the Community Team.
Greetings all!

We're going to have another Play with the Noob Friday, February 11 at 3:00 p.m. Pacific. We'll probably do more chatting than playing. Why is that? Well, we're introducing you to your new Community Manager, Spacecats! It will be a shorter stream, unless we have lots of questions.

He started on Wednesday, and has been reading the forums, checking out our streaming room (for improvements!), getting to know the staff, and plotting out some community-based in-game events. We're looking at bringing back some of your faves, so we'd love your feedback.

We'll be updating the thread, Meet the Community Team 2.0 so you'll be able to ask him lots of questions on that thread and in the stream chat.

We look forward to seeing you in the Twitch chat.
Yes, we have a new CM. We're getting him all set up. :) We'll be streaming tomorrow, so you can drop by and watch us during "Play with the Noob".

I didn't see anything about those threads that were against the rules, so I can't fathom any other reason to delete them.

The archive also isn't 100% accurate. There is a lot going on which doesn't show in the archive. It just shows that action has been taken on a thread.

As example:

"Your TERA dreams" - We didn't moderate it. There have been numerous edits to posts in the thread, but they were made by the people who made said posts.

"GM PUNS" threads - Spamming, all caps, and staff shoutouts. All against the rules.

"Spread the word" - Discussing moderation, which is against the rules.

"Filtered crybabies" - Insulting other players. Against the rules.

"2/5 Community Twitch Stream: Producer Q&A" - one post in the thread was moderated, as it was discussing...moderation of two removed threads. This is against the rules.

"Curious about the optimiztion complaint..." - The majority of the thread was three people fighting, with insults and off-topic posts. These are all against the rules, so the whole thread was removed. Out of 9 pages of posts, only a few were on-topic to optimization.

"Desperate player's letter to other Players" - Insulting other players right from the get go, which is against the rules.

I could go on and on, but won't. None of these posts were good discussions, nor were they constructive. There are many many threads which have not been moderated, in which players expressed their opinions and frustrations, offered suggestions, asked questions.

We're not going to stop you from doing any of those things. You are free to debate opinions, ideas, suggestions, and all, as long as you're not insulting other players, using excessive profanity (in text, images, or videos). Basically, follow the Forum Rules and you'll be fine.

3. Are the new forums looking pretty enough for us to get a preview?

4. This question was inspired from this thread. Can we get a q&a or feedback thread or twitch stream with someone from bhs?

I'll take these. :)

The forum is not yet in a state for folks to review. Right now, we're doing back end work from Ops/Platform on test servers.

And no, we won't have BHS on a stream nor would they post on our forums.
Greetings all,

The recording of the chat is now online.

TERA Producer Q&A Chat

Denom will update this thread through the week, to clarify and answer more things as we get the information.

Is the stream still a go for today or did some one's hamster eat their paper?

We are streaming today at 3:00 p.m. Pacific. I confirmed with Denom, who's still feeling poorly, that he's on board to chat with everyone. If he sounds weird, be kind. The flu is terrible.
I posted an update last week, if you want to know more about how these things are going.

Danicia honey, any info about Kyra's Potion Event? :-)

Yes. :) Rather, we have some, but we're waiting on the final details. As soon as we have them, we'll update everyone.

I sent a PM to the OP. The video violated the Forum Rules, which is why it was removed. I invited the OP to create a thread to discuss the points in the video, without the parts of the video which violate the forum rules. Anyone can create a thread about their thoughts and feelings regarding the development or status of the game. However, the content must abide by the Forum Rules.

If you have further questions, you can PM me directly or email community@enmasse.com
We'll be implementing a Player Council once the new forums go live. Your new TERA CM will be managing the program once they're on board.
